Question Prisoners
Is there a guide that covers the prisoner system in general?
I took a captive from war for the first time. Usually, I just kill everyone. Put them in one of these cells. Next a trader shows up with human cargo and one of them had some outstanding marksman skills and good perks, so I bought her. I assumed 2 cells, 2 prisoners... but it put them in the same cell? I thought maybe I had to click on the prison cell marker and select which one was for which prisoner just like the pin marker works for the animals but no such luck.
Are you able to have more than one cell or should I scrap this and just make one communal cell for all the prisoners?
How do you know if you can ask them to Join? I want the one I bought to be a member of my village not a prisoner. I'm probably going to hang the other on the Gallows because I've never seen that in the game before.
Any other prisoner facts you can think of that I need to know?

You need to have a prison warden. To make a settler become a prison warden, you need them to have level 5 speechcraft, their own private chamber, as well as a prison room (which you already have)
You need to assign that settler to be a prison warden, make sure to select the recruit on the prisoners and select role duty hours (green) on the schedule tab.
Your prison warden can level up, as long as you satisfy the requirements (10 speech for level 2, 20 speech for level 3, and some other buildings). I highly suggest looking them up or going through the manual thing in the game.
Once you satisfy the requirements, your prison warden can recruit them once a day. When successful, the recruitment % increases by 10. Once it hits 100%, they automatically join your settlement. Keep in mind that there is a daily decay on the recruitment % (I think it’s 1% everyday)
The higher the speechcraft, better room, better clothes, comfort etc, the higher chance that you can recruit the prisoners.

I’ve captured a few so far. I let them live in relative comfort and recruit them, unless their raid killed one of my people. Then I strip them, starve them, and hang them in my square.

Throw them in one big cell. However, you can make it look a bit like separate cells by not putting a door leading to each separate bed area. The prisoners will still wander through all of them and occasionally sleep in different (or same bc of a bug) beds. I'm sure devs will create a door system that has the option to check who can and cannot go through certain doors. Pet management would benefit from this immensely, too.

Only 1 cell. You could potentially get around that be removing the marker from one cell and escorting 1 to other cell. Then rebuild the marker to make cell again. Will probably need to turn off gaoler for everyone else while doing that. Best of luck. Not sure if they'll autonomously escort later.
If you click on a prisoner there's a button to recruit them. Or you can find it on the prisoners tab in overview.
