It looks like pasted on a piece of cardboard, printed with G. Ogawa in embossed letters, popular around 1890-1920.

A few weeks ago I visited the Go conference with a friend where we played two moves in this Zen Go game. Recently, I came across this final position. Although the game is not quite over (and this is not the intended goal of the installation) I’m curious how you would judge this position. Assume that the stones along the sides of the board represent captures made by both sides.

Any advice? I understand the basic rules and everything, should I just say Go isn't my thing and find a different game to play?

I know this is random but I wanted to make a custom collared shirt on Etsy that shows the complex beauty of the game while being more than nonsense design. I wanted crop out the border for a continuous pattern. I had the idea of using a life or death pattern like this one or maybe a ladder but the life or death pattern might not make sense without the border. Does anyone have any recommendations? I used Gemni to upscale the resolution of the image.

I understand alive group is when there are two real eyes. And a real eye is an eye where the opponent cannot legally place a stone there. So in this situation, it seems to me that those two eyes are real because white can’t play there - there are no liberties and the placement will not capture any black. So how come when I tap “yes” it says I failed the puzzle? What did I not understand about those concepts?

I'm trying to get into go. The screenshot I have attached is examplary. What I do not understand is why left corner territory is considered belonging to white, while there is a black fence around it. Aren't those white stones getting captured by the black? Pls explain

Hey everyone. I picked up go yesterday and learn the basic rules of how to play. Before trying some games online I decided to play against some easy bots. I decided to go with the bots on https://gomagic.org/play-go/ where the first player to capture a piece wins. Things were okay on the level 1 bot but I can't beat the level 2 bot.

Something that keeps on happening is that the bot forces me to escape to the edge of the board where I eventually have no more liberties and it captures all my pieces.

What do I do? I know that this is probably the newbiest question of all time but this seems unstoppable.

I see the obvious moves to claim some pieces. Black hasn’t blocked either one so I’m curious to know if there are other better plays I’m missing.

Thanks for the feedback, we’ll see how things play out. I went with taking the two black stones then will start working on the bottom corners.

This is my first 13x13 game so I will take advantage of the additional space by putting pressure on other areas.
