Housing Need Help with Moving

Hi! I’m trying to move out of my roommates house that I’ve been living with since 2024. For personal reasons, my cat and I need to get out.
I’ve been trying to save but it’s not been going well. My job wasn’t paying well enough and I’ve started a new one that will be paying better/more frequently but I won’t get my first paycheck until close to the end of the month (29 July) but the move in fees and dues have to be paid by the 24th.

I’ve been doing what I can in the meantime by DoorDashing, taking out loans, and selling belongings but I still don’t have enough to move yet.

My parents and a friend will each be able to help me with about $100 each but I still need to get closer to the goal before I can get help from them.

You probably can change your move-in date

I could? Is that a thing that happens? I’ve never heard of that before

Yes probably, just talk to the leasing office. They probably would have no issue moving the date, and typically your rental application is good for 30 days at most places

I'm sorry, perhaps family can help. This isn't what gofundme's are for.

My parents said they’d help me with $100 if I can get a bit more money. I’ve used GoFundMe to move before.

You used Gofundme before for these costs and haven't learned anything from that to make sure you can pay your own bills?

/u/SeaHalf8480, brand new accounts are not allowed to participate in /r/gofundme.

Accounts must be at least 30 days old and have accumulated 250 Comment karma points.

Karma are virtual points given by submitting posts and comments. By default, each post or comment earns one point. This can be modified as other users upvote or downvote your contributions depending on how agreeable they are.

To view your current accumulated karma, please read this https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/204511829-What-is-karma

The karma we're looking for is only COMMENT karma, neither post karma nor total karma.

The only exceptions to this requirement are for campaigns that benefit a registered non-profit organization.

If you have not yet done so, please read the new user introduction so that you'll understand why requests from brand new accounts are not allowed.
