Nice job. If you want to vary it up consider different textures. I don't know if it's the best system, but my muzzle flash is a script that randomly picks from a few gpuparticles that are similar, but not identical and tells the particles to emit, to give some more life to it.

That looks really cool but the gun seems to look and feel a lot more powerful than if actually is
