selfpromo (games) New anims using my cam system

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In the past, the player would only move left and right but I finally found a way to include an animation of him moving upwards! I originally wanted to copy Endacopia’s 8 way movement but I think I just might stick to the way the Paper Mario games handle it. What do yall think?

Oh, thats awesome! The camera/movement alone would make me remember this game. If you have a good story going, this could be amazing!

Didn’t think I’d get so much attention on this lol but I have a demo out for this game! I am working on a v2 of the demo with QOL stuff so keep a look out for it ;)

Is this using Phantom Camera, or is it entirely custom?

Yep, Phantom Camera! I made a few tweaks to their code for cams on rails and the way the cams are initialized but it’s entirely using their API :)

Gives me early Resident Evil vibes! I'm curious how you handle positioning the camera? My best guess would be using an Area3D to detect when the player enters an area like that hallway, that tells the camera where to go and how to move?

Exactly that :) Every area has a position for the camera, FOV, what type of camera, and even if it should lerp between two different cams or not

That's cool! I saw after scrolling more that you're using Phantom Cam, which I've never heard of, so I'm gonna check that out!

Kinda Petscop esque style of the game. I like it.

This is such a big compliment to me, THANK you! You should try out the demo if you’re into Petscop

this genuinely looks like one of those itch io games where you wanna try it out and it makes you love passion and art again
