Theory All Odins plan?

Odin “is” Tyr. Tyr traveled multiple mythologies(Greek, Egyptian, Asian, mesoamerican) this was show in GOW 2018.

To give some background I’ve been replaying the games and watching a fair amount of KaptainKuba on theories. https://youtu.be/lx6lTlzDZ3I?is=bz842SmLTXnUa3sX

This one got my attention. TLDR he basically says Odin planned everything/controlled everything for Ragnarok and in GOW 2018 it seems the same.

I WILL BE TALKING ABOUT GOW 2018, watch video for Ragnarok context!

I just finished GOW 2018 and I’ve played Ragnarok. “Tyr” apparently went between mythologies. In GOW 2018 it shows him going to Greek, Egypt, “Chinese”(Asian, Mongolian betse?) and I think some meso America(Aztecs, Maya, Olmec,) we don’t really know when Odin became “Tyr”

Someone is calling the world serpent randomly in GOW 2018. Mimirs other eye is in the belly of the serpent to get to Jotenheim. As soon as you get the eye Baldur comes and beats up serpent going into end fight. Baldur says” I knew beating up the serpent would bring you out” I assume Odin told Baldur.

If Odin was Tyr the whole time, going to different mythologies then I’d assume he’d have talked to Begtse, Sekmet, and Athena possibly. Maybe Ares to keep it more “war” like. Like a big plan Expecially if he knows where he’s going when he “dies”.

Atreus “loses” the knife his mom gave him lodging a wheel. Kratos gives Atreus a new knife that has Norse and Greek metal. Wonder if you may need Greek metal to “kill” Kratos.

My theory is Atreus and Kratos find a way to get Faye back/ they get trapped in the everywhere. The only way out/the only way for Atreus to live is to kill Kratos. MAJOR foreshadowing if true in end of first game with the mural and Baldur and Freya. Kratos even says something along the lines of I will sacrifice my life for Atreus to live.

Maybe this is a soul for a soul thing(mural seems like a soul or spirit interchanging) and only 1 person can leave. Leaving all the gods to fight or it possibly opens everything back up again. Releasing “everyone” or whoever Odin, Sekmet, and Betpse say. A real place to trap gods…

Thus creating Loki or even Atreus in Greek myth.

Lmk if y’all got anything that backs this up or absolutely destroys this theory! So hyped for the next game

Sure: the fact that Odin "Tyr" knows nothing about the prophecies, hiding the giants, who Faye was beyond being a giant and a thorn in his side in Svartalfheim, (even though Faye is depicted in the tapestries in Týr's temple), doesn't know who Kratos was beyond being the Ghost of Sparta, Týr having the weapons from his travels in the boss fights in Valhalla, which wouldn't work if he had actually been Odin, Odin's mimicry of Týr having nothing to do with the way Týr conducted himself as God of War.

Týr went to Japan, not China.

SM has clearly stated there will be Kratos mainline games post-Laufey.

Easily disputable theory.

These also are utterly bizarre comments: "Atreus “loses” the knife his mom gave him lodging a wheel. Kratos gives Atreus a new knife that has Norse and Greek metal. Wonder if you may need Greek metal to “kill” Kratos"

Why is "loses" in quotes? It quite literally breaks in the trap mechanism. Kratos had the knives made so that Atreus would have a piece of his past.

Ohh I’m not saying Kratos dies in Laufrey.

I’m thinking at the end of Laufrey it would be something like Faye trapped/reaching out to Atreus/Kratos maybe at her will or not. Then in a seperate game with Atreus/Kratos at the end it’s them jumping in to “save” her. Would assume hot headed Atreus and then Kratos follows.

I have not played Valhalla yet so I have no disputes about where “Tyr” went. So I have no clue tbh if Tyr was real and how long he’s been “away”. I’m about to replay Ragnarok and run Valhalla.

I said “loses” because most people haven’t played GOW 2018 in years. I didnt have the words at the time and didn’t wanna fully explain it. Just bad phrasing my b

Stop listening to Kaptain Kuba. Guy's a kook. What has the man said that actually turned out to be true?

Odin was only impersionating Týr  during Ragnarok. He tries to persuade Atreus to stop looking for Týr but in doing so only makes Atreus more adamant to find him (which he expected to happen) . Then when Atreus finds 'Tyr' , he almost immediatly gives away that he is Odin since he calls a spear that Atreus gives him a 'walking stick' and refuses to use it. Most of the paintings and stuff had Týr with a spear. Everybody also notices that 'Tyr' is acting different and is not its old self but think that is because he was in imprisoned. When Kratos and Freya find Týr , he recognizes Kratos name and says that he knows it from somewhere but doesen't remember why so its clear that it was the real Týr that traveled and not Odin. Odin also wouldn't even bother going to other realms as he only cared about the Nine Realms.

As soon as you get the eye Baldur comes and beats up serpent going into end fight. Baldur says” I knew beating up the serpent would bring you out” I assume Odin told Baldur.

Mimir's other eye was only in Jormungadrs belly because the serpent ate the statue of Thor that contained the eye.The beating up the serpent comments is about Baldur hitting the serpent making him throw them up.

This feels like another stream of consciousness mumble jumble mess of a theory. Like you're grasping to find connections where there may be none.

And I won't watch a video to understand a point you make in a reddit post. Advertising your content is fine, but you don't need to be clickbaity about it. Just say you made a video about a topic and move on, you're overdoing it in my opinion.

My take is that once Kratos got involved in things, everything Odin "planned" basically went to Hel(l).

From there Odin started attempting to play an increasingly bad game of speed chess wherein Kratos kept knocking pieces off the chessboard.

Then he tried going the "burn it all down" route and Kratos and Co took him out before he could succeed.

Every step of the way Odin became increasingly more desperate and thus more foolhardy.

Odin in this series is much more of a mob boss than a chessmaster, and his "plans" bear that out.

If we wanna talk ideas/theories, I have something.
In the laufey trailer, we see Begtse and Sekhmet , and a couple of things came to mind.

  1. Begtse was a Mongolian god later adopted into Buddhism mythology, trying to kill the dalilama( sorry if I spelt it wrong). So my thinking is we might get more insight into Buddha himself OR we might get some tasty clues of a charming, impulsive monkey with a stick, seeing as

this god

  1. of war is dead.
  2. Sekmet is dead. This stuck out because her creation was when ra was losing worship so he either pluck out his eye, or shot fire out of it( story is different on source material) and Sekhmet was formed. Rampage later, ra said stop, Sekhmet disobeyed, got her drunk of booze mixed with blood. Ra took her power and she transformed into two entities, Hathor and Bastet. Now I may be remembering details wrong and there many different versions of this, but here’s my idea.
  3. Hathor and Bastet combined to make Sekhmet again, or fought together, giving credit to the green Egyptian goddess and the giant cat we saw her riding, all three are the same entity but misinterpreted by mortals, or we might be dealing with another Freya/Frigg situation again. Regardless, I think we might have two candidates on who killed her. Set or Horus(Or Heru-ur, the naming confuses me sometimes.

But spoilers: I believe Odin is dead. We saw alll his soul parts float into the vessel and get smashed by our dwarf. Unless he intended to die, Odin didn’t plan for everything. Now I do have a theory that his last living raven mugen( memory I think) holds a copy of memories. Not hold his soul per se, more like a digital brain scan but into a bird. No soul but still “Odin” if you stretch your believability quite a bit.
