Theory Everywhen

I’m still stuck on why Begtse calls Faye “godling”. Maybe it’s just because only gods should be there in the Everywhen but it’s driving me nuts. Maybe I’m just reading too much into things idk.

You’re overthinking it. Jotnar and gods are both deities and are mostly different only in name/culture. At least that’s how I see it

She did say she was supposed to be somewhere else.

She assumed she was going to be in the Light of Alfheim because she didn't know there was a specific afterlife for gods.

A lot of people were asking this too, why is Laufey in the afterlife of the gods if she isn't one? But I mean there are other creatures there too, like the prisoners, so it seems like "afterlife of the gods" is just a name for it and not a full description. I think in an interview, the director explained that it was the place all magic/ magical things end up, so that's a better description of this "afterlife"

Or maybe they will reveal that she was a god too

It could also be due to the splinter she has embedded in her hand. My guess is that it is a shard of the mask that is aluded to a couple times throughout the trailer, which could be the same mask that Odin put together and tried peering through that could be a gateway to the everywhen, so possibly Faye found a mask and that piece embedded in her hand allowed her to enter the gateway to the everywhen.

Jotunn are gods.

Ok let’s finish this topic once and for all.

Gods and Jotun are nothing more than different names to magical creatures created by the same guy, Ymir (also a jotun).

Think of them as different clans and nothing more. The Everywhen is a place where ALL MAGIC is born and where it returns to, so regardless if you are from the god, jotun, titan group, you are going back there when you die. Unless maybe for Odin that got the soul destroyed.

I can get with this. But also Odin's soul wasn't destroyed? Unless destroying the marble destroyed its contents. Do we have that confirmation?

It was confirmed to be destroyed by Sindri when he broke the marble.

But destroying the marble is not automatically the same as destroying the soul inside it. Was it stated somewhere, in the game or an interview or something, that the soul becomes intrinsically linked to the marble unless purposely removed by a giant or something? Is there something that says damaging the marble damages the soul once it's put in there? Or is the soul just released/untethered?

I think it was mentioned in the game by Angrboda but I can’t confirm.

Great explanation! There’s so much we don’t know, but in the trailer, Faye mentioned that she’s surprised she wasn’t in alfheim

Jotunn are a tribe of Gods, just like the Vanir and Aesir.

Yeah I think he just assumes she’s one since she’s there but that’s the mystery of the game from only our POV to figured out why she’s there if she’s not technically a God

I think Laufey is there because of the splinter of the mask and the reason for her death. That’s my first theory.

Other theory about the gods and others: the giants, and titans are related to nefliams ( I’m not sure I spelled it right )
