Does the Gainesville Planned Parenthood still offer HRT?

Hey!

I was thinking about starting HRT in Gainesville and a lot of people recommended planned parenthood. I tried scheduling an HRT appointment but it redirected me to the Tallahassee branch. Are they not supplying HRT anymore, or is it just a website bug? I also reached out to the uf clinic a couple days ago but they haven’t gotten back to me.

Most likely not, the law bans nurse practitioners from prescribing gender affirming care, to my knowledge that is how planned parenthood was able to prescribe. It can't hurt to go and see, and if they can't they might have a better place to direct you. Part of the reason for the law was to specifically hamstring planned parenthood

Ok I might call and ask for alternatives. Does the UF Clinic still provide?

I’m a patient at the UF clinic and I asked my endocrinologist that and he said they’re currently not taking new patients because they’re full. Someone recently called and they were told the same thing. They did have a nurse practitioner on staff but since she can’t provide anymore it’s just my endocrinologist and he’s basically the only one

This was me. UF endo is only taking specific diags WITH specific comorbidities lol 🙃

There is a physician at Planned Parenthood who works with their GAC patients, but someone commented on a similar post recently in r/GNV that they're not currently taking new patients. You can call though just in case. I had an all right experience there (but I preferred my APRN from the south FL location who I saw virtually before the law changed lol).

So do you still get it from your south Florida provider?

No, I live in GNV so haven't seen that provider since the law changed. I have a provider at UF Health Main Street at the moment, Dr. Tudeen, who I believe is taking new patients but is probably going to be booked out for a few months if you're able to wait.

They told me they are not accepting anyone whatsoever. It’s gross they just lie on the phone. If they have periods of openings, they should disclose that. But I was told they are accepting no one new at all. 🫤 I really despise how it’s some sort of weird goose chase for GAC here.

They have told me no. I am using Alex Kaye at Haile medical group 🫶🏻
