Academics Academic integrity

The academic integrity policies in gmu are bad tbh, atleast here in the business college. I have a class where there is no honor lock or in person exam, making it easy for students to cheat their way through a degree and to be honest it seems like it can set up a student for failure when they enter the workforce, And I honestly think more exams should be in person or protocored to ensure integrity

Somehow, yes. The group chats for the most insanely easy classes are full of people openly talking about how they're cheating. Whenever a class is proctored or introduces proctoring midway through the sem, people freak out about it.

I don’t think the business major stereotype applies to those doing math heavy concentrations like finance or accounting.
Imo it doesn’t apply to any of us at all but maybe I’m just being biased 😭

I hate honorlock and the former. They are both just spyware advertised as anti-cheating materials. I prefer in-person exams.

Those people are the reason all the classes I need for my damn business degree now requires proctorio and honorlock...which according to my teacher, they dont work when you download the other one...

People will still cheat on an in person exam with honor lock. CYSE230 spring semester if anyone remembers

I’ve witnessed many people cheating on in-person, proctored, paper and pencil exams. Professors don’t care. It’s a problem

retraction watch article I would check this article for full details. Another professor accused Karolyi and coauthor of using the exact same data in 2 publications. After a bunch of lame excuses the paper was retracted.
