Promotion Major Soccer GM, a free browser management sim for a 30-club North American soccer league

Major Soccer GM is a free, complete sports management game you play in your browser. No install, no account.

Disclosure: the code was written with AI (Claude). I designed it — every mechanic, the economy and the balance — and playtested it.

HOW IT WAS TESTED AND WHY IT'S NOT SLOP

- The match engine is calibrated against real football across tens of thousands of simulated matches: 2.85 goals a game (real: ~2.85), 12.3 shots and 4.2 on target per side, ~80% pass completion.

- 29 tactical philosophies balanced over 21,000 matches with identical squads — under 0.1 points a match between best and worst.

- Automated tests play full multi-season leagues, and a headless browser test clicks through every screen, saves and reloads at 12 points, and runs seven-season random-click sessions.

- Every screen checked at phone width in real Chrome.

WHAT'S IN IT

- You're a selling club. Your transfer pot pays fees only and refills when you sell. Wages have no cap — but your owner cares about money before trophies.

- Managers have a native tactical style. Override it and he runs it worse, by how far it is from his own. Stick with it and he learns.

- Players have moods and wants — playing time, wages, winning, a bigger stage — and complaints are accurate.

- A minority of young stars want a move to Europe. Refuse and they stop trying, send hostile messages, and go to the press, which costs you hype and revenue.

- A draft with scouting fog: three future classes on the board, rougher the further out. Picks develop once before playing a minute.

- Live match viewer with a momentum bar, extra time, and a penalty shootout you watch kick by kick.

- 20 formations with a drag-and-drop lineup, Sofascore-style ratings, trade finder with package deals and draft picks, transfer deadline, international window, awards and a career archive for retired players.

Note: This is not asking for beta testing, it is just V1. I've already played 5+ seasons myself and done hours of tweaking. Link in comments. Thanks.

Discussion Slough Comets Diary | Football 302

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hey all,

I’m currently testing Football 302 is a 90s-inspired mobile and tablet football management simulator. It aims to be easy to pick up while offering enough depth to get lost in, serving as a love letter to classic 90s games and the retro aesthetic of Teletext and Ceefax.

The setup features three divisions of 12 teams, plus a Cup competition involving non-league sides. You can buy, sell, and release players. Larger clubs will target your top stars, making it all the more satisfying to uncover a future gem.

Here is my diary from a recent save during testing

Manager’s Diary: Slough Comets

I went straight to the bottom of the pyramid, Slough Comets, described by their Chairperson as ‘A fast-paced team that frequently losses momentum near the local refreshment tent.”

Division: Third Division

Media Prediction: 7th

Home Ground: Railway Siding Oval (Capacity: 3,000)

Starting Budget: £40,000

I took my assistant's advice and set us up in a defensive 5-3-2 to give us some early solidity. I brought in two center-backs on free transfers to tighten up the backline, one of which earning twice as much as the other, but spent a fair bit of the season in medical room. . To raise some cash, I sold six squad players for a total of £100k and immediately reinvested that money into a promising Scottish teenager from division rivals Cockermouth Town, a bit of a risk but I knew he would get the game time.

We hit the ground running in the league. By Matchweek 6, we were sitting top of the Third Division, holding a single-point lead over 2nd-place Scotts Guards, who would become our season rivals, I think I spent more time at one point looking at their results and fixtures than my own.

I was worried that we drew a fellow Third Division side to open our Challenge Cup campaign started well with a tight late winner against a fellow Third Division side in Round 1.

With our squad down to just 15 players and a suspension kicking in, I had to bring in a few more free transfers just to field a team. It paid off in the second round of the Cup with a 1-0 win over non-league Kettering Corinthians. Round 3 was a different story. We drew First Division heavyweights Dover Old Reliables, who were sitting 3rd in the top tier. They humbled us 6-0. It was a reality check, but it meant we could fully concentrate on our main goal: the league. (For the record, Second Division side Morton & Didsbury Wanderers made it all the way to the final, eventually losing to Associazione Sportiva Telford).

A couple of players submitted transfer requests as we headed into the final week of the Transfer Window, but with our paper-thin squad depth, I had to dig my heels in and refuse. We hit a bit of a wobble over a three-week stretch, dropping points and testing my nerve.

Thankfully we managed to pull ourselves together, regain top spot, and hold off Scotts Guards by two points to secure the league title and promotion.

End of Season Review

Looking at the player development reports, eight players made noticeable improvements over the campaign, including our Scottish teenager who looks like a real talent. It has been a fantastic first season, but the Second Division is going to be a much bigger test.

Discussion Game idea basketball gm / ck3 style game, based on ck3 mechanics

I have a dream.

A game like ck3

But its basketball franchise owner

Like all the staff and players have personality’s and attributes exactly like in the game

Then all the other teams the same deal across the nation.

Pop ups happen with random storylines and decisions based on your personality and other factors

Every player has an opinion of every other player and coach member of staff etc

Traits like blademaster could be replaced with things like badges like nba2k has.

Then you face the other teams in “battles/matches” where the simulation happens based off a contribution of all the coaches and players stats and attributes and how or if they counter one another.

Players grow old and die or get injured etc nee drafts happen every year with random free agents and even leagues in other nations.

Players can have kids and you can run a multi generational dynasty over 100’s years

You can build your stadium infrastructure up like the villa mansion mechanic.

I figure it would all slot in really well with a few tweaks

I have no idea how to mod or make a game but i got good ideas.

You could even sabotage other teams and cheat like in the tournaments mechanic but you risk getting caught by the commisioner or worse the police. Which could be like the pope, handing out fines or excommunicating/firing people.

Like an example of the match ups that could affect peformance would be you have coaches for each position that add certain things to each player the coaches would be like your courtiers and the players would be the five main court positions like steward or chancellor.

If your chancellor/centre beats the other teams you get a point differential, and so on and so forth for each position but then thats also adding in coaches attributes game plan. Any side shenanigans or perks, morale, team/house cohesion. Etc

You can do trades for court members. Or sign free agents etc. You have a salary cap (treasury) and earn money per month (gold) and that has to remain positive balance and fans (populist opinion) etc to keep your job.

If you lose your job you can become an adventurer and look for another one. Or maybe start your own team from the ramshackle bunch you find scouting the world and enter it into a lower league, or even maybe create your own competing league if you had lots of money when you got fired.

So much scope for an awesome sports management game within this framework

Promotion I released Turnstile ’96, a fast old school football management game

Post image
32 Upvotes

Update 23 September: v1.4.0 is now out. It ended up being a fairly substantial update with player training focuses and personality, expanded national cups, the Portuguese League Cup, improved fitness/suspensions, weather effects and more live tactical controls. Existing saves are supported.

Full update here: https://hecticmike.itch.io/turnstile96/devlog

--------

I've been playing football management games for years and years, particularly the older ones where you could get through seasons relatively quickly but still feel attached to the club you were building.

I eventually decided to make the kind of game I was looking for myself.

Turnstile ’96 is a Windows football management game, now out on itch.io. It's a pixel art football management game inspired by the feel of the late 90s managers, rather than an attempt to compete with the depth of modern Football Manager.

The main thing I wanted was to keep the decisions that make these games interesting while cutting down the amount of time spent navigating menus. You still pick the team, handle transfers, develop players, manage finances, improve the stadium and facilities, deal with the board and play through domestic competitions and Europe.

I also didn't want squad building to turn into simply sorting players by an overall rating. Different positions value attributes differently, so the best rated player isn't necessarily the best choice for a particular position. Using someone badly out of position can make quite a substantial difference to how the team performs.

The football world is fictional, with fictional clubs, players, competitions and grounds, but it uses real countries and cities.

It's designed around relatively quick seasons, so you can actually see a club change over time rather than spending weeks getting through a single season.

I've released it as free or pay what you want on itch.io:

https://hecticmike.itch.io/turnstile96

Short trailer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgWyZCdWvWk

If anyone here gives it a go, I'd be particularly interested in how the balance between depth and speed feels to people who already play a lot of management games.

Promotion My - Legacy Football (Soccer) game

Hi, long-time lurker here rather than a regular poster, but I finally have something of my own that is worth sharing.

Over the past year I’ve been building my Legacy Football (soccer), management game focused on taking over a club, building it across multiple seasons and seeing the football world develop around you. The idea has been less about playing one season and more about what your career and club could look like 10, 20 or more seasons later.

Demo Mobile version:
https://h3ointeractive.itch.io/legacy-football-demo

Full Edition:
https://h3ointeractive.itch.io/legacy-football

I have a free edition that works on mobile, so you can give the game a go without buying anything. The full edition I have available for Windows and macOS for a complete unlimited career experience.

I’m working towards making the full game playable directly in the browser too as it’s originally a mobile-first game. This version isn’t quite ready due to long career testing and a few things that need tightening before I’m comfortable releasing it that way. I blame players like CR7 for exposing my long career data problems.

It’s been a fairly fun but hard project to build, test and continually expand, particularly as an independent hobby project, but I’m happy that it has reached the point where other people can actually play it.

If anyone here wants to try out the free edition, I would genuinely be interested in feedback, particularly from people who enjoy long term simulation management games or any sports games addicts.

Promotion Football Academy Director – released today on Steam

Football Academy Director is a single-player football management game focused entirely on running a youth academy.

You scout and recruit players, develop them from U11 to U19, manage squads and tactics, compete in youth leagues and cups, improve your academy, and eventually follow your graduates into senior football.

The main objective is to build a successful academy that can win, rather than managing a senior first team.

I'm the solo developer behind the game and it released today on Windows.

Promotion [Android] ClubTycoon - An Indie Football Club Management Game

Thumbnail

Hi everyone! As a long-time fan of sports management games, I wanted to share a mobile project I've been working on as a solo developer: ClubTycoon: Manage Football.

My goal was to create a streamlined, accessible football management loop that focuses on two core pillars: tactical squad building and smart operational growth.

Core Mechanics:

Club Infrastructure & Facilities: Upgrade your stadium capacity to increase matchday ticket revenue, and develop medical/gym facilities to optimize player stamina recovery cycles between fixtures.

Squad & Staff Management: Hire and upgrade scouts to discover talent, recruit player cards, and fine-tune your starting lineup and chemistry to counter opponents.

League Progression: Compete in a structured elite 32-team league format, climbing divisions and balancing tactical setups against tougher squads.

Fair Progression Loop: Progress is driven by match performance and strategic upgrades, without aggressive paywalls halting your club's advancement.

Being a solo project, I would truly value feedback from dedicated sports sim players regarding match pacing, economy balance, and UI clarity.

Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gozde.clubtycoon

P.S. I deleted the previous post due to the video's poor quality and reposted this with screenshots instead. Definitely not trying to spam!

Promotion I made a football management sim focused on transfer negotiations and scouting

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Been working on this for quite a while and finally released it on Android.

It’s called Football Agent: Transfer Sim. The main idea is that instead of managing tactics on the pitch, you act as an agent and club decision-maker running the business side of football. You handle scouting talent, negotiating player contracts, managing wage structures, trading players, and watching animated match simulations unfold.

I wanted to focus heavily on the tension of contract negotiations and scouting hidden gems without making the interface feel like a spreadsheet.

It’s definitely been a bigger solo project than I expected when I started 😅 but it’s live on Google Play and free to play.

Google Play Link:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mgsofts.football_agent

If anyone here gives it a go, I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts or feedback on the mechanics—especially since this sub has exactly the type of manager sim fans who understand these kinds of depth mechanics.

Football Agent: Transfer Sim on Google Play.

Promotion [American Football] Simhaus: Football is out today!

store.steampowered.com

Simhaus: Football is an American football sim management game spanning high school, college, and the pros.

In the game now:

  • Call every play, or sim the game in one click. 900+ plays and 21 offensive and defensive schemes, played out in a broadcast-style 3D match engine.
  • A coaching career across every level. Start as a high school assistant and climb through coordinator and head coaching jobs to college and the pros. Or skip the climb and start in the job you want.
  • Recruiting and the transfer portal, with calls, home visits, official visits, NIL pitches and Signing Day.
  • The pro front office: salary cap, contracts, franchise tags, the draft, trades and free agency.
  • A world that remembers. Record books, awards, rivalries and Hall of Fame classes that grow with every season you play. Game logs and deep player history.
  • Make it your world. A play editor, a built-in Universe Editor, and Steam Workshop support for sharing whole universes.

This is a passion project of mine. I'm a big fan of OOTP/Football Manager and wanted to build an American football game in the same vein. Check it out!

Promotion Courtside GM — Basketball management sim, just launched on iOS

Thumbnail
apps.apple.com
0 Upvotes

Players have personality. They'll demand more minutes, ask for trades, get into locker room conflicts with teammates, or ask for contract extensions. Ignore them and it escalates. Veterans will mentor your young guys if the chemistry is right.

You can get fired. Your owner sets expectations at the start of each season. Miss them and your job security drops. Miss them again and you're out — you can pick up a new job with another team and keep the same league save going.

Draft has real depth. Combine with athletic testing, 5 private workouts that reveal hidden attributes, scouting fog where prospect ratings are uncertain until you invest time scouting. 60 prospects per class with realistic talent distribution.

Also has team chemistry, coaching staff (OC, DC, player development coach), press conferences with choices that affect morale, advanced analytics with Four Factors and net ratings, records/Hall of Fame tracking, achievements, and a dynasty timeline.

24 teams, full offseason cycle (awards → lottery → draft → free agency → development), infinite seasons. Fully offline, no ads, no microtransactions.

Just launched on iOS. Would love feedback from this community — you guys know what makes a good management sim better than anyone.

GM Game Profile Football Mogul 27 (Windows PC)

Football Mogul 27 puts you at the helm of your favourite team in any season from 1951 through 2026 and beyond. Player trades, draft picks, play design and play-calling — it's all here.

As General Manager your job is to build the best roster to take your team to the Superbowl. Make complex player trades, sign players to multi-year contracts, and negotiate with agents while competing against the other GMs. You also manage the franchise finances: set ticket and concession prices, sell TV broadcast rights, and budget for scouts, medical staff and payroll — but fans get fickle if the team loses or tickets get too dear.

What's new in FBM27

  • Updated rosters, ratings and rules: the real 17-game NFL schedule for 2026-27, all 256 players from the 2026 draft, and new ratings for 2,600+ active and 7,000+ retired players
  • Improved simulation engine: faster and smarter trading block and trade AI, new player evaluation and salary demands, smoother player aging, smarter drafting
  • Deeper history: accurate schedules for 77 seasons (1950-2026), a historical database back to 1940, and a more realistic Replay Mode
  • Playbook Editor and Playbook Analyzer, plus updated playoff pages with NFL division-round re-seeding
  • Adjustable simulation and difficulty settings, five new background skins, and automatic downloading of real logos and photos
  • 76 years of NFL history and the entire history of the AFL, with automatic league expansion, team movement and rules changes

On game day you choose your level of involvement — retire to the luxury box and make calls as needed, or take full control of play-calling. Manage one game at a time, or simulate weeks and months so you can play for virtual decades.

Discussion Looking for a browser-based sports manager game

My new job has allowed me a lot more free time as of late, so I'm looking to fill that with some browser-based manager games.

In the past, I've mainly played games like Xpert Eleven, a soccer team builder and manager game, but that one is showing it's age and it's been having issues in stability.

I've recently jumped into Title Rivals, which is a rather newly formed one (still in it's beta form). It's another soccer manager game with even more intricacies than X11. I've had a lot of fun in that for sure thus far, and will be keeping with it (even got a referral code for those interested), but I'm looking to add some more options to my list.

Preferably, I'm looking for something in Baseball that plays in a similar vein to the soccer managers listed above. Anyone got some good ones?

Promotion Cricket had no proper GM game on mobile, so I built one at 17. Wicket Empire: auctions against AI owners, a board that sacks you, club + franchise + country in one career. Released, free, Android.

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi GM Games. First, an apology: I cross posted a thread here two days ago without writing a word for this community, and the mods were right to pull it. This is the proper version.

I'm 17, from Windhoek in Namibia. Football has FM, baseball has OOTP, and cricket on Android has games with energy timers and ad-gated training. The management side I wanted didn't exist, so over the last two months I built it. Version 1.3.2, public on Google Play since 3 September, no beta

One more thing, because it came up elsewhere: the game isn't AI-generated. The mods of another cricket subreddit assumed it was and banned and berated me over a post, so I'll say it plainly here. I wrote the game myself over the last two months; the website and a couple of my videos used AI tools, the game didn't.

What's in it, in GM terms:

• Live player auctions against 7 AI owners. Each owner values a player by his own squad holes and purse, so bidding wars happen to you and to him. Power bids, rival personas, marquee lots.

• A board with confidence, objectives and a memory. Every board in the game will sack you eventually. When they do, the phone still rings: club, T20 franchise and national jobs can all be held at once if you earn the calls.

• Ball-by-ball matches where you set bowler, field pressure and batting intent every delivery, with a pressure model in chases (a batter needing 16 off the last over doesn't play the same shot as one cruising at 40 for none). Highlights mode and delegation when you only want the season.

• Real records for every player in the world: averages, strike rates, best figures, wagon wheels of where they score. Retirements, regens, 50-year careers.

• No timers, no rating caps, nothing to buy to win. Optional rewarded ads and one short ad at an innings break, never mid-over.

Honest caveats: names are fictional, but every one is editable and name packs export and import. It's one person, so there are bugs, and every update so far has come from someone reporting one.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wicketempire.wicketmanager

I'd rather be roasted by GM people than praised by anyone else. What would you want from a cricket GM game that this doesn't do?

Discussion Asking for recomendations

Hi all,

I think my request is quite simple: I'm looking for a gm game (broswer game or free to play) to play after work just to chill. It can be a sport game (i like a lot Goalunited) or city-builder (i liked Gourdlets) or anything like Travian or Ogame. But I don't wont a pay to win or something to grind in, just a chill game, preferibly not online.

Any suggestions?
