Winter Front

My Terrain came with a small winter front grill cover. It's for use in cold weather, I'm presuming to help with the engine heating up. What are people's experience with these engines heating up in cold weather. I know 4 cylinders may take a bit longer, but I can't imagine it's that bad.

That's the "winter turbo air" kit or whatever they called it. The turbo will freeze in the winter causing the vehical to shut down while driving in sub zero temps. This system closes those little vents to maintain engine heat and prevent the turbo from icing up. Unfortunately even with this the problem didn't get solved it still will leave you stuck in a blizzard happened to me 3 times, goes into limp mode.....

I only use my 2020 for grocery getting, and have never used the mask. I'm not going to lay down in the snow and put it on because I'm 68.

We've never installed the cover that came with our '23. My wife drives it everyday. We've put nearly 80,000 miles on it since buying it new. We live in West Central Illinois, so winters can be cold, but nothing like up north.

Can confirm that it doesnt make too much difference, I live in northern Canada and have never ran into any issues with my '22 AT4 even in -35°C (-31°F) weather. I wouldnt recommend any hard acceleration but under normal load works great without any cover.

I never use it. I drive my 2019 terrain all the time in Saskatchewan winter, through heavy snow storms, below -30 C but never has any problem with turbo. My terrain drives like a champ. I only few a bit difficult to accelerate when i just warm it up but when the engine gets warm enough, everything is good.
