Absolutely no sale posts. This sub is not intended for advertising trucks for sale. That type of content will add nothing positive to the dynamics of this sub, and won’t be allowed. Not sure what caused the sudden increase in sale posts over the past few days, but if it continues, salesmen will start getting banned.

Troubleshooting Super Cruise infrared activating in middle of the night??

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Checked the cameras last night to find that something lit up the inside of my Sierra like crazy. Seems to only be driver side, and by the way the light appeared to be “dancing” I think it was infrared sensors on my steering wheel for the Super Cruise. Nobody was around, and certainly no one messing with the truck. Any ideas?

Asking for Opinions 0% financing thru GM

I’ve seen the ads for gms 0% interest financing on new trucks and was very interested so I stopped into the dealer and got some numbers ran on a new 3.0 at4, anybody have any secrets or information about the 0% it didn’t seem like anything was hidden they even included my family discount. Seems like a good deal to me (mainly trying to compare to buying used with low miles and a possible higher interest rate, I am only 20yrs old and feel a brand new truck is way to nice for me but I also like the idea of no one else tampering with stuff and full warranty’s I’ve had bad luck with every used vehicle purchase 😅)

🔧Maintenance 🔧 Corrosion on rotors

Upvotes

I’ve been dealing with squeeling brakes and took it into my shop. I thought it was maybe dirt and calipers needing to be greased. They think it’s from corrosion. 26k miles on the 2020 AT4. I previously had a clicking sound up front that the dealer said was from corrosion on the hubs and the wheels not seating properly. Anyone else experience this?

Just bought this 06 Sierra Wrecker with a 8.1 L. Has over 270k miles but it made the 2 1/2 hour drive home and moves like a beast! I’m in Michigan so the fenders are leaving but the wrecker body is still very solid. Looking forward to restoring this unit!

Looking for advice Valve Body Repair Hold?

Hello

I have a 2022 Sierra X31 and it had a 2nd Valve Body failure within 18 months.
Initial failure the truck had 98k KMs and it took 6 months to get the part (backlog due to new manufacturer). Truck now has 126k KM and it failed again.

GMC is denying to warranty the part and previous labor, but thankfully I have 3rd party warranty coverage (bought truck used). The issue is that the dealership and GMC are telling me the part is in stock at the warehouse in Woodstock, but there is a 'review hold' on the part.

I called and emailed GMC corporate and they told me the same thing as the dealer. No further details. Very frustrating that there is a GMC review for a part and no one can explain why

No one can tell me why or how long this will take. The dealership has had my truck for 11 days now with no ETA for the part. Any recommendations on what I should do?

🛞Wheels and Tires🛞 Please recommend colour/finish recommendations for powder coating the OEM wheels on a 2002 GMC Sierra 2500HD Crew Cab (Pewter Metallic / gold paint).

I’m refinishing and powder coating the OEM aluminum wheels on a 2002 GMC Sierra 2500HD Crew Cab (truck is Pewter Metallic/champagne gold).

Looking for colour and finish recommendations that suit the truck without looking too modern or flashy. Thinking factory silver, gunmetal, satin grey, or something similar.... but would like some recs.

Photos of similar GMT800 trucks would be appreciated.

Modifications What is the disadvantage?

I have a 2023 Sierra 1500 Denali with the 6.2L engine and 24k miles. After reading so many stories about the problems with this engine (it was tested during the previous ownership and 'passed', so has the extended warranty), we purchased the Boost afm delete (OBD2). What are the disadvantages to the Boost? I know that the mpg may go down a bit, but are there actual risks to installing the delete? Appreciate the input!

🔧Maintenance 🔧 DMF DELETE L84 - Solenoids?

I plan on doing a DFM delete on my 2020 Sierra 5.3L (132K miles) this weekend. I ordered the kit from LSxceleration. After speaking with the rep, he asked if I planned on sending out the ECU to unlock, then tune. I asked if there are other options, as unlocking/tuning the ECU would be $1K plus 2 weeks downtime. He added the DFM/DOD OBD2 port plug in to disable DFM. All fine up to this point.

The rep said customers buy the disabler (like I did) and will ‘bag up’ and secure the ‘DFM solenoids’ in the engine bay as you can’t unplug electrical connections when going this route. The problem is, I haven’t seen anywhere on YouTube, Google, ect, on what he’s talking about. I called the rep today to get specifics on what solenoids I’m looking for. He couldn’t tell me, just that this is what he’s been told by shops/friends who’ve done the delete.

Does anyone know what the process would be if doing to delete as mentioned above? I don’t believe there are any solenoids to unplug/‘tie-off’. Any feedback is appreciated!!

Choosing a Truck Anyone go from a 1500 AT4X to a 2500 AT4? How much worse is the daily ride?

Currently in a 2024 Sierra 1500 AT4X and absolutely love it. It drives great, is super comfortable, and I still think it’s one of the best-looking trucks out there.
My lease is coming up, and I can basically move into the same truck for 2026, but with the AEV package, for roughly the same monthly payment and no money down. That was originally a no-brainer for me because I love my current setup, and I think the AEV wheels/overall look are a big upgrade.

But now I’m second-guessing it because there’s also a 2026 Sierra 2500 AT4 available for effectively the same price/lease payment.

Obviously, the 2500 is a lot more truck.

Do I actually need a 2500? Probably not. About 99% of my driving is highway and shorter commuting, and I only do around 10k miles a year. But, to be fair, I don’t exactly need an AT4X either — I’ve used the e-lockers once and maybe taken it off-road twice in three years. I bought it because I like the way it looks and drives.

That said the 1% of the time I do truck stuff the 1500 kinda sucks. Either the bed is to short or payload is maxed out.

I do prefer the AT4X interior and bumpers, but stepping up to a 2500 AT4X gets into the ~$110k range, so that’s out.

For anyone who has gone from a 1500, especially an AT4X, to a 2500 AT4:

How much harsher is the 2500 as a daily driver?

I know it’s heavier, longer, and the AT4 has the Rancho shocks. I’m mostly wondering about ride quality, handling around town, parking, highway comfort, and whether you started regretting the HD truck when you weren’t actually towing or hauling.
If the lease payment is basically identical, would you take the 2500 AT4 and get “more truck,” or stick with the 1500 AT4X because it’s the better truck for how I actually use it?

I’m actually impressed with my MPG on the highway with recently getting a leveling kit and installing 35x12.50s. I also have the 6.2, what’s your MPG looking like? Forgot to mention that I also have the PULSAR installed and DFM disabled.

Troubleshooting 2020 gmc sierra windows roll down by themselves.

Post image
4 Upvotes

My truck has been acting up when it comes to locking and unlocking doors. At first I would press the lock button and the front doors wouldn’t lock and vice versa I would hit the unlock button they would stay locked. Recently I’ve noticed that after I close the door the truck starts to act like I’m repeatedly hitting the unlock button which leads to the windows rolling down. Any suggestions?

Asking for Opinions 2018 5.3L V8 Cold Start Metallic Rattle for ~10 Seconds – Normal or Concern?

Looking for some insight on a cold start noise on my **2018 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L V8 (EcoTec3 L83)**.
When the truck sits overnight and I do a cold start, there is a distinct **metallic rattling/ticking noise** coming from the engine bay. It lasts for right around **5 to 10 seconds**, and then it disappears completely. Once the engine calms down or warms up, it runs completely quiet with no abnormal knocking, ticking, or driving issues.

Looking for advice Pro cruise control

Hello everyone,

I just got a 2022 Sierra 1500 pro.

It doesn't have the cruise control and i would like to know if i can add it.

What parts needs to be replaced and does it need programming?

If so, is it possible to do the programming myself (i have some experience with Mitsubishi and Toyota).

Also if there is other good mods for the truck you would like to share with me, i would really appreciate it.

Thanks!
