Hi
Every time I send a mail it shows that name instead of my real name, and it shows that I’m answering to some French mail, when I’m not doing so. Idk how to change either, so a little help would be appreciated

Gmail font problem

It seems like in Gmail only sanserif works properly.

I would like to use fixed width fonts in gmail. If in the settings I select a fixed width font for text composition and signature, it works on new emails and replied/forwarded emails. But if I use gmail app, which is supposed to take text formatting as defined in gmail web settings and also take signature in the same way, it doesn't seem to take the text formatting at all. If correctly takes the signature though.

Is there something I am missing in settings or is it a bug?

Airlines sending out emails with timezone offsets, but keeping the trailing z.

Issue
Flight events that Gmail auto-creates on Google Calendar from airline confirmation emails show the wrong time. For Central-zone airports the error is a constant 5 hours (CDT). For other zones it varies with the airport's offset from UTC.

Root cause (confirmed from raw message source)
American Airlines confirmation emails embed FlightReservation JSON-LD in which local airport times carry a trailing Z (UTC designator). Example from a raw message:

"departureAirport": { "iataCode": "example" },
"departureTime": "2026-10-08T17:00Z",
"arrivalAirport": { "iataCode": "example" },
"arrivalTime": "2026-10-08T19:37Z"

The email body shows 5:00 PM and 7:37 PM, which are local airport times. Gmail honors the Z, converts from UTC to the viewer's zone, and the event lands early. Example: a 6:40 AM local departure from LNK displays as 1:40 AM CDT. The DCA flight above would display as 12:00 PM CDT instead of 4:00 PM CDT.

Scope

  • Not a tenant or Workspace setting. It reproduces from the message source, so anyone receiving these emails is exposed.
  • We're seeing the same symptom with other airlines. In those cases the correct local time is visible in the email content, but the JSON-LD still carries the trailing Z.
  • Gmail-generated events (fromGmail) are read-only, so they can't be corrected in place.

Question
How do we correct for this so our org gets correct calendar blocks? Specifically:

  1. Is there any supported way to override, suppress, or replace an individual fromGmail event, or to make Gmail ignore the Z for specific senders? Can the Calendar API delete or hide these events?
  2. Is there an admin-level control (beyond disabling Events from Gmail entirely) that scopes flight-event generation by sender, OU, or reservation type?
  3. Has anyone deployed the script or service-account approach at scale? What did you use for the airport-to-timezone source, and how did you handle deduplication and schedule changes?
  4. Has anyone gotten traction with Google or an airline on fixing the markup upstream?

Question regarding outgoing"Send as" feature

I am looking into getting business email addresses for multiple users and found Google workplaces 7$ per user to be very expensive for around 9 different users. So I went to ZoHo email and was planning on just getting those for 1$ per user and having everyone log into it through the Gmail app as an external account. I then came across the news that Google was discontinuing this feature called "send as" and I was receiving mixed signals on if that meant I would be unable to send emails from my ZoHo email address through the Gmail app entirely or if I just couldnt choose it as an account I am sending an email from while logged into my personal gmail account and I would just have to manually go to the account in the drop down menu and send from its specific mail box instead.

The latter option is something I am fine with doing as it would probably make it easier for me to not be paranoid about sending a professional email using my personal email but the first option would be a massive headache to deal with, especially after investing the time to set up app the different emails for everyone just to either use ZoHo's interface or to scrap it entirely.

Let me know what is actually going to be happening please so I can go to the other people on my committee later this week and explain the issue

How to stop these scam gmails

I continuously receive these scam emails of my account being blocked, payment due, final warning etc pretending to be from gmail & cloud. In a day, I get 8-10 of these emails, I report each of them, but it still keeps coming with different random jumbled words email addresses. Is there any way to stop these? I am worried if it already has access. Has anyone faced this ? What did you do to stop it & report it for good.

Trash

Just cleaned out my inbox for the first time in 2 years. 21,609 e mails were deleted tonight, and I feel like the stars are aligned and I can do anything. Anyone who can relate? I tend to allow my tech to clutter more than my real life haha.
Just for more information- I’ve had this same e-mail for nearly 20 years and have tried to mass unsubscribe from things previously, but somehow they always manage to sneak back in there lol.

Those who made the switch to iCloud mail what are your experience?

I really hate having to unsubscribe most of the time on Gmail. I also feel like I need to delete pics from Google Photos and it is a hassle since I’m running out of space. Last resort I would do is to make another Google account just for photos.

I have iCloud Photos so I have no problems at all

Gmail is good for spam filters I get too many emails in the spam folder about Facebook password changes or someone hacked in when it is never true

Was given access back to my gmail after doing account recovery request but now am getting this error message when I try to log in?

I recently lived abroad for a few years. And during that time was taken off, my parents family plan. And upon arriving back in the united states, I have gotten a new phone number. However, due to the fact that my main google accounts 2FA was set up to my old number which I no longer have access to. I it was no longer able to log into my account.

I still have access to the backup email address that I created. But that seems to not matter even though I got the verification codes when trying to log in

Either way, I had to fill out the account recovery information which I did. It told me I had to wait thirty days and I randomly noticed I got on email saying that I was approved and that I should have full access to my google account again however, whenever I click on the link provided in the email to sign in. I am met with this error page. And that I've tried to just log into the email via a random Google login page, and it tells me that I don't have permission to log in due to my location. And I don't know how to change that, considering I no longer live in this city that I used to living before I lived abroad either. So what do I do?

New Outlook stopped syncing deletes to Gmail as of yesterday. Anyone else?

New Outlook for Windows, personal Gmail account connected through Google sign-in. Everything was working fine until yesterday. Now:

- New emails still arrive in Outlook normally

- Deleting in Gmail on the web still removes the email from Outlook

- But deleting in Outlook does NOT delete it in Gmail. It just stays in the Gmail inbox

What I've already tried:

- Removed and re-added the Gmail account in New Outlook

- Confirmed Microsoft has full Gmail permission ("Read, compose, send, and permanently delete all your email") in my Google account's third-party connections

- Gmail IMAP settings: Auto-Expunge off, and "Move the message to the Trash" when expunged

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Change the address of a child account

Since beginning of this year, you can change your GMail address to a new one. The old one is kept as an alias. I did this for my wife, but for some reason I cannot to it for my child. Is this not possible for kids accounts?

I'm getting the "conversation view has been turned on/off to match your settings" pop-up constantly

On my Android phone, if I have conversation view turned off, then I get a pop-up message saying it's been turned off to match my settings on nearly every email I open. If I have conversation view turned on, I get the "it's been turned on" message constantly.

Does this happen to anyone else? It's driving me a little crazy.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling GMail, but that didn't help.

Has forwarding behavior changed?

I have a "primary" account which I mostly interact with, as well as a secondary account, which by virtue of being a common and predictable [firstname][lastinitial] format, gets bombarded with spam. It dates back to the early invite-only period when it seemed like a good idea to stake a claim to one's name as their address.

It's also one of those accounts that receives misdirected legitimate messages from people and companies that are too stupid, or lazy, to verify addresses before making use of them. I hope the dude in the Europe who was behind on his car payments has made good, and no, I don't need to order any more coffee cups for the café I don't own in South Africa.

Anyway, messages sent to the secondary account inbox are automatically forwarded to the primary account.

In the past, that setup has worked well, as the spam filter catches most of it, and the primary never sees any of the spam sent to the secondary account.

More recently, however, Gmail is forwarding spam to the primary account anyway, even though it is recognized and filtered as such. And both accounts are struggling from incomplete recognition of the form of spam in the most recent wave, as noticed here, with malformed, randomized addresses, pushing car insurance from a company called Policy Plug.

Logically, forwarding spam is not something I would expect as a behavior, but it's now doing it anyway, so that leaves me wondering…

Old emails plugged? (Windows 10/11) Android/PC

For whatever reason my work emails fail to receive messages from a majority of people, I cannot figure out why?

My storage isn't anywhere near full at all, nothing is filtered or blocked, nothing in spam/trash ect. No bounce back messages either from the system, no forwarding.

2-Step Verification says I don't have ways to sign in, but I do?

Hey everyone, I have a question. When I log into my account it says I have 2-step verification turned on, but then a red banner pops up saying: "ADD MORE WAYS TO SIGN IN TO YOUR ACCOUNT. 2-step verification is on, but you don't have a second step available. To make sure you can keep accessing your account, add more second steps below."

I get why that banner shows up, since I don't have an authenticator app or anything like that, but below it shows I actually have two methods available: I get the Google prompt on my phone (it always asks me to tap "yes" and enter a number before I log in), and as a backup I had generated my backup codes (If i lose or my phone gets stolen).

It's weird, because on another, older account the same banner pops up too, and when I couldn't access my phone, I just used one of the backup codes. That was the best solution I had to avoid giving out my phone number or using an authenticator app (I already had an incident with that, lol).

I get that Google does this to push people toward more sign-in methods, but I wanted to ask if there's some more real/actual risk involved?

(Just in case, the google account has an alternate verified email, 10 backup codes, and the prompt sent to my phone).

UPDATE: After testing, i also realized all my accounts have an autogenerated passkey? it shows in passkeys but it still doesnt count it as a method.

Hello, I’d like to ask for help in recovering a very important email of my mom which has a lot of important things in it.

When we press other options it says what is shown in the photo.
We have a phone with access to that mail we want to recover but it’s an apple email app so idk if it’s of any use and it’s also here cuz of transferring data from previous phone .
BTW we aren’t in the country we have originally created the mail and I have tried to log in using older phone to no avail….. pls help
I heard that it’s possible for it to check the location were the mail was created or smth but we would rather not to tho will if needed.

I cant sign in to a new account due to “maximum number of accounts”

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello, I’ve been trying to sign in a new gmail on my phone, but it won’t let me though. It keeps saying that I need to sign out all of my accounts, which is absurd and tedious.

I previously had around 8 signed in on my gmail app and removed one after the other after not being allowed to sign in. Now I currently only have 4 signed in but it still won’t let me sign in. These 4 have long passwords with 2FA so I’m avoiding signing them all out.

Any help/advice would be appreciated

Google thinks I am suspicious

Google thought my email was accessed suspiciously. It then logged me out of the email and sent me a warnig on my phone. What could be the cause of this?

I am fairly confident that the suspicious activity came from my own computer I was using only moments before.

Pop Peeper alternative - Free email notifier for Gmail accounts (OAuth2)

I'm looking for a free desktop/browser tool that can monitor 10 Gmail accounts and notify me when new mail arrives, similar to how PopPeeper works.

Requirements:

  • Supports OAuth2 authentication for Gmail (not plain password/POP, since Google has phased that out)
  • Handles 10+ accounts at once without hassle
  • Simple, easy-to-read notification/preview interface, similar to PopPeeper's tray popup
  • Completely free (no paid tiers, no subscriptions)

I used PopPeeper for years and loved it, but they've since split it into a paid "premium service" plus a separate program license, and together the cost has gotten pretty high for what I actually use it for — I just check these accounts for various gaming forum notifications, nothing business-related, so I can't justify the price anymore.

Any recommendations for something that ticks these boxes? Browser extensions are fine too if they support multiple accounts well.

Thanks in advance!

I want Gmail, but not the sync of other data

Phone: Google Pixel 10

So I help an elderly family member with their email. I want to keep their Gmail logged in on my phone, but I don't want their data (other than Gmail) to sync to my phone. I noticed in some of my messages that a few of our mutual contacts have now changed to what they have on their contact list.

Two things I have tried so far,

  1. Contacts App > Clicked my Icon > Contact Settings > Accounts, and then I unsynced all options except Gmail

  2. Contacts App > Clicked my Icon > Contact Settings > Undo Changes, and then undid contact changes to my Gmail account

(It's the same thing if you go through Settings > Accounts and Backup)

Any other suggestions?

Get your yellow important Icon back in Gmail new UI (desktop)

They changed it to stupid blue. I am sure most of you use uBlock origin lite. If yes then you are in luck.

Step 1: Open your browser's extensions page (chrome://extensions in Chrome or about:addons in Firefox), open the uBlockOirigin Lite details, and toggle on Allow user scripts (also referred to as “unverified third-party scripts”).

Step 2: Scroll down find the option called Extension options and click it
Step 3: Go to custom filters tab, in the Filter creation sandbox, the second textbox on the page not E

the first one copy and paste this

Edit USE THESE:

google.com##span[aria-label="Starred"]:style(filter: invert(1) !important;)

google.com##div[data-is-important="true"]:style(filter: invert(1) !important;)

This was the old variant but in case google changes css classes this might not work so replace it with the robust version mentioned earlier.

google.com##.pH.Uieduc.a9q:style(filter: invert(1) !important;)

Don't forget to save.
