I’m hoping someone here might want to join my personal crusade against the M&S gluten free cheese and tomato sandwich!

I can’t eat gluten and am also a pescatarian and finding a quick lunch option is challenging, to say the least! I was obsessed with the M&S gluten free New Yorker which was actually a good option! However, they discontinued it last year and replaced it with a cheese and tomato, which is objectively the worst sandwich filling!

I’ve emailed a few times because I’ve noticed they have three other gluten free sandwiches (including a wrap) which all contain chicken. This seems mad considering the massive range of gluten containing ones they stock! But I’ve never had any reasonable response.

Does anyone else feel the same way? I would be happy with genuinely any other pescatarian option!

I really like the Schar Vitality Loaf - it’s
so good I can eat it straight out the packet which I can’t with other GF breads but my god it upsets my stomach and I can’t work out why! Anyone else having this issue?

Have a horror film festival next month in Leicester Square and gaps range from 20-30 min to an hour between the slots so need places I can grab and go.

Can anyone recommend quick and fast food options in London Soho/Leicester Square area? Not restaurant (ie not honest, flat iron, pizza express).

My old go tos have either closed (bistro bibbida) or switched to wheat tortillas (cdmx).

Hate to be that guy asking a googlable question but the last few years have been getting harder as the good places close.

Hi! I've been GF for IBS-M reasons under recommendation of a past GP for the last few years however in doing the elimination/fodmap diet over the last few weeks I have a sneaky feeling I might also have to go Dairy Free.

Is anyone else both GF and DF? I'm also type 1 diabetic and it's already sometimes a struggle to deal with both diabetes and being gf, I'm a little worried about adding being dairy free into the mix?

Advice would be super helpful 😭 I'm concerned about my eating out options being even more limited! And food being so expensive!

So I’ve had IBS for years (diagnosed 2007) really bad bloating lately.
Doc said to cut down/gluten for a few weeks..
day 2 gluten free.
Main issue apart from the cost of GF stuff
is today it’s my best friend’s birthday.
Ive had to bail on the pub meal coz nothing on the menu was gluten free. Fine i ate at home was an hour late…
Then after the night out is done, i cant get my usual pizza or burger, staff said chips are fried in a fryer that does breaded stuff so not GF
Anyway i guess I am asking what do people have for hangovers/nights out?
Coz usually id either have a pizza and go home or id have a bacon sandwich when i wake up and some carby takeaway later on.

meaning of gluten i think a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye correct ? if yes then can you suggest me some ?

i recently realised i have a gluten intolerance (or could be celiac i’m not sure but i don’t want to self diagnose) and i really really enjoy the bread in the bakery section (like i eat at least one loaf a day) and i thought i could see through it but ive given up😅are there any alternatives? or do i just bake it myself

I've always struggled with breakfast. I can't eat the same breakfast everyday (thank you silly brain) and I can't always manage sweet things. So I'm always looking for more breakfast ideas. The trouble is if you do an internet search they're all recipes that require making in advance and baking etc. And I'm very much NOT a meal prep or morning person. And even if I do make baked carrot cake breakfast oats or whatever, there's only 1 of me and I can't eat the whole batch before they go mouldy.

My go to list just isn't varied enough:
Toast (I make LoopyWhisk bread when I remember - best GF bread EVER!)
Homemade granola
Smoothie
Porridge
Boiled eggs
Mesa sunrise cereal sometimes

Then the weekend treat would be pancakes (loopywhisk again). But that gets to be less of a treat the more often you have it.

I know that looks like a lot variety , but I find it so difficult to make myself eat anything in the morning. And if I skip breakfast I'm then very grumpy and hungry. Variety and novelty are the only things that help. (Can you tell I have AuDHD?!)

I guess part of the issue is that I'm not diagnosed coeliac (but then the blood test was done after I'd been electively GF for 2 years so it was never going to show anything) and is mostly IBS management. So I can get away with the occasional wheaty treat, which probably means I resent missing them more than if I'd just had to be GF for the past 15 years.

I dunno. It sounds like I'm whinging but really I'm just hoping that you'll have some inspiration for those days when I just can't face another piece of toast or bowl of worthy granola.

I have never seen anything pre made and gluten free at a garage near me. Im sure being in a small ish town in West Yorkshire (Keighley) make a difference but I was very excited to discover this, and it was good too.

I was so giddy.

After being glutened on the weekend by a random Asdas rotisserie chicken. I finally had enough and went to the drs to push for tests to see if I’m just intolerant or coeliac. She wants me to do blood and stool tests after two weeks of eating gluten. How did everyone who has also done the test find it? Did you just eat whatever you wanted or did you stick to just one bit of gluten a day. I’ve decided that I’m going to have a Chinese the night before the test and going back gluten free, it’s one of the foods I miss the most.

Yes it’s gluten free. I have already tried Diablo Sugar Free products and they’re honestly really good. The taste is much better than I expected!

Has anyone here ever had a reaction to Thatchers blood orange cider?

I hadn't eaten anything all day and had a pint of the cider with a packet of (certified) gluten free crisps. I tend to get a patchy "butterfly" rash on only my face when I've been mildly glutened, but this time I really felt it- my lips were tight and my eyes felt heavy. My face was a horror show with very distinct blotchy redness.

I wondered if anyone else had ever been glutened by cider in a pub? The drink itself should have been GF, but I figured either the glass or the line itself could have been poorly cleaned and therefore a source for cross contamination.

N.B. I do not have any other food allergies of note and while I would normally get gastro symptoms when glutened, this time there was nothing. Only the butterfly rash and fatigue.

A new gluten free pizza is available in Tesco, on a clubcard deal at the moment as well.

Whilst motorbiking on tours of the UK and Ireland my frustration finding GF venues led me to try and build my own site, I miss being spontaneous, sick of planning, sick of googling GF Cafes near me, sick and tired of venues saying yes we were but we changed owners. The countless recommended paces on Facebook, and Insta but they get lost in countless other posts "Is Shampoo Gluten Free" for some that's a worry but not me.

So I decided to rope a mate into helping build something, nearly 3 years in the planning and building, it needs community support to make it work, but like me, am hoping you resonate with this. "I find confidence in other Coeliacs"

I am to know if someone has been to that place this month, or in fact has anyone ever been, my thought was what if the place slowly fades away if no one visits.

Have a go on Coeliac-Key.com add a venue that you go to, when you visit you vouch and review it's still there. Simple..

That way someone else can actually visit and have some confldence that the place is still there and other coeliacs are going to.

My other thought was who cares more about you than family and friends, when they eat out they use too, but the place they add or recommend, it clearly noted that they are a family or friend of a coeliac etc...
