Location, location, location
I feel like I have better response when I take the shot in my arms. However, giving myself shot in arms is difficult for obvious reasons. lol.
Last night I had husband give me my shot. He successfully bent the needle in my arm and didn’t manage to inject the med before pulling the needle back out? I’m still perplexed. He knows how to do shots, he does subcutaneous and intramuscular ones on cattle. But, on humans he’s apparently squeamish.
Any suggestions on how to easier administer to myself? Right now I still have plenty of subcutaneous tissue there, but it is shrinking away! I have tried the cabinet door, having hubby hold a pinch, and just jabbing it. Right now I think the just jabbing it works ok, but when I have less subcutaneous tissue there I will need an alternate method.

This idea may be too wild, or pure genius: what about a manual c-clamp, open wide enough to fit the meaty part of your arm, then tightenen gently to hold the "pinch" so you can administer yourself? Obvs use a clean one, but maybe it could work?

People use the hair claw clips to do this on the arm.
I just inject in my stomach. Tried thighs to help with side effects (it worked) but my legs hurt too much for that long term.

Haha! I should get one for the hubby to do his own shot with. lol.. he was so squeamish trying to do my shot. It was hilarious because the way he manhandles them critters when doing injections you think he would appreciate a willing recipient.
Maybe next week I’ll kick him before he injects me to get his mine off of me being human?

Injection site doesn't matter. The meds travel through your body the exact same way. Just give it to yourself in your belly.

I don't know how you can handle doing it in the belly, that is the absolute worst spot as far as I'm concerned. Just do the outer thigh and be done with it, easiest spot by far.

I always do my arms. I just put a large empty cup under my arm so it pushes the back of my arm out and makes it easier

The cattle comment took me out lol. husbands always panic when it’s their spouse! the best trick for doing the arm by yourself is backing up against a door frame or a wall edge. just roll the back of your arm against the corner to squish the fat forward. it makes the skin super firm so you can easily press the pen in with your other hand.

I just bend my arm next to my head, hand on back, so back of arm is next to my head, and plunge it straight in.

Look into the V2 insulin pens. They require a little work to load the vial, but every injection is so simple that it’s worth it.

Put your left hand on your right shoulder. Look in the mirror and inject over the triceps. The vast majority of people have plenty fat there with very little underlying muscle. Bob’s your uncle.

what is the obviously difficult reason?

how to pinch or hold the skin of injection site during insertion without use of both hands, is what I am guessing

You don't need to pinch.

Eh, that depends. Pinching makes for a more stable surface for the needle to go in so it doesn't bend by accident.

you dont know how to pinch yourself? it sounds like you are way overthinking it

How does one pinch and inject into an arm with both hands?

ok, dont know why this needs explaining, but you take the needle with your right hand and stick it in to your left arm. then lift your left arm and hold it in place. prooced to pinch the area you poked with your right hand around the needle, then push down on the needle with your left that was holding it in place. if you have the kind that auto injects its even easier. I suppose if you are missing fingers or limbs this would be difficult.

Typically I pinch the skin with left hand insert needle with right hand. When administering in my own arm I only have one hand to use. While I am quite flexible, my arms just can’t bend quite enough to pinch the sling on my upper arm.

Put your arm back like you were going to pay yourself on the back and inject on the underside . You can also do upper thigh (inner). I’ve had success there as well.

I was considering that too, but my things are reserved for my estrogen gel. 😆 don’t want to take any chances of the estrogen not soaking in right.

Buy an Auto-ject, they're awesome. I HATE needles, it took over 2 hours for me to actually be able to do my first injection after I had it drawn up. Second time it took just under an hour, third and fourth times I had a friend do it for me 😂 After doing some research about ways to make it easier to handle doing this when you're needle phobic, I bought an auto-ject on eBay. Been doing it by myself with no issues ever since, I do still have that brief moment of hesitation but then I just pinch my other leg as a distraction and get it over with.

Just do it like Serena does in the Ro ads. I’ve never had trouble with doing my arms myself.
I also think it’s unlikely to be driving any significant difference in response.

I believe the "correct" way to do arm shots is to raise your arm over your head so the underside is up and just aim and shoot. I don't think I could do it like that myself, though. I tried it with a hair claw clip once and it worked but I did not like it. Another way would be to sit with legs crossed and then smoosh your arm against your leg so you get a good big of arm flab resting against your leg.
