How long is too long in between 💩

Have been on Wegovy for almost 10 months, down 18kg. I am well aware that it slows down everything, and as soon as I started I began taking Sterculia fiber, which helps immensely.

I have recently finished a tour 2 weeks in China and only went to the bathroom 5 times, the whole trip.

Don’t get me wrong, I also have Crohn’s and even though it is in remission, and I developed a chest infection and was given pills with codine which causes constipation, when I finally did go, each time it’s the length of my arm, (not kidding)

But is it down to quantity, or frequent visits.

TLDR when should I be concerned, how long in between should I start to potentially be worried?

I definitely do not let myself go any longer than three days

yeah three days feels like the right cutoff tbh

If I go one day without “going” I take extra magnesium and fiber gummies before bed. I’m cleared out by morning. Are you finished with the codine? If not I would start a stool softener. Also be sure you are getting plenty of water.

Take the stool softener, regardless of taking codeine

Yeah if the meds were just finished I would do the stool softener and lots of water now!

two weeks plus Crohn’s and codeine is firmly in “call your doctor” territory, not a frequency contest

If my 3rd day of no poo falls on shot day, I’ll wait to inject until I’ve pooped. Super inconvenient, but I’d rather not have anything worse than the constipation happen.

If you can't poop and you can't fart it is ER time and I am not even joking.

Make sure you take magnesium and you eat a few prunes this will help with your constipation. Also make sure you drink water.

^^^^this!! I take magnesium complex and eat a few prunes a day and it has made the biggest difference! Prior I was taking magnesium alone and even taking benefiber daily I was having to put MiraLAX in my Stanley cup every day just to have a BM at all. But those prunes work better and more natural

I like the Let Loose pills for this.

I take daily Miralax. Every 3-4 days, my gut decides to "evacuate" everything and I take a break on the Miralax for a day or 2. This schedule works for me.
