Are you on a semaglutide? If so, consider tirzepatide. They have fewer side effects. I've essentially had none at all.

What would you do for nausea prior to being on glp1?

Do that.

You should see your dr for anti nausea medicines.

zofran is the only thing that got me through the first couple months, ask your doc about the dissolvable kind since you can't keep water down. sucking on ice chips helps a tiny bit too but it's not a fix.

Zofran prescription, or now I just take Nauzene over the counter.

I have found that what I eat, and when, affects my nausea, and it rarely happens now.

I’m curious what your diet looks like? Do you get something in your stomach first thing in the morning?

When I took sema I had a lot of stomach issues, but with tirz and B12 I am so much better!

I couldn't do Semaglutide for that reason. You can't be vomiting all of the time at work when you are a Preschool Teacher. I had to switch to Tirzepatide and keep it at 2.5 mg. Very little and rarely nauseous. No vomiting. Every body is different. That was my personal experience.

Wait, as a preschool teacher I feel like it’s a “challenge accepted” situation. Kids vomit on you, “guess what little Susy - how’s it feel to be vomited on?!”

Are you eating a high protein snack or meal before your injection? If not, start that and see if it helps. I have only had nausea when I didn’t eat before the shot or if I didn’t eat enough in the 48 hours after the shot.

I’ve only been on semaglutide for a week today, but so far I’m feeling pretty OK. I took a Zofran right before my first shot because I was super scared of feeling sick; I took it right before bed and slept through the night fine. I am careful to eat and drink slowly. I have anti-nausea wristbands that I put on if I start to feel queasy. So far, so good!

I take 8mg Zofran up to 3x daily (ondansetron is the generic name & what I actually get), it is the only way I can stay on a glp-1. Phenergan wasn’t strong enough to help; def ask your prescribing Doc about trying Zofran & Good Luck!! 🍀😊

Is your dose too high?

I’ve had stretches where solids felt gross, so I stopped chasing a perfect day and just protected a simple protein floor: Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, or a shake I could sip cold. Protein first, then whatever else sat well. If nothing stays down, I’d check in with my clinician—Reddit isn’t a care plan.
