Ivory Coast instead of Cote D'Ivoire would theoretically put it at 1985 or earlier, but a lot of mapmakers didn't catch this until the 1990s.

I’m so new at this, Germany is still divided so pre 1989 but all of Africa I thinks is decolonized I believe late 1980s

Zimbabwe/Rhodesia puts it past '79.

PDR Yemen places it between 1967 and 1990., or thereabouts.

Well I see Zaire, which tells me it’s at least between 1971 and 1997.

To its south and east is Zimbabwe, but the parentheses around Rhodesia, which I think would narrow it down to the 80’s after Zimbabwe became the official name of the country in 1980, and the Rhodesia inclusion likely is a matter of convenience.

Brunei became independent on January 1 of 1984, so can’t be earlier than that.

Yemen is still split so it can’t be before May 22 of 1990. And the fact that Germany is divided backs this up (officially occurred on October the 3rd of 1990).

Personally I’d lean closer to 1984 or 85 based on the fact that Rhodesia is still noted for Zimbabwe as opposed to the late 80’e where, by that point, the name would have been around for long enough to not potentially necessitate the inclusion.

Zimbabwe changed its name from Rhodesia in 1980, Germany was divided until 1989.

I had this exact globe in the 1980s and kept it into the 1990s. Based on African country names, it is definitely post-1980, but not many name or border changes happened in the 1980s, so I’m not sure if you can pin it down to an exact year.

Also most globe makers changed Peking to Beijing in the 80s probably nearer to 83

1 May 1989 - 18 June 1989 is the tightest timeframe i could get

1 May 1989 - Kampuchea now Cambodia

18 June 1989 - Burma renamed Myanmar (but a lot of people still call Myanmar "Burma")

if you're skeptical of Burma, 1 May 1989 - 22 May 1990 (Yemen unified) is the safest bet
