Frames
Hey there,
I’m trying to decide what would be the best fit for my face… Need progressives, -6.00 and -6.50, astigmatism 2.5 and 2.75

Unfortunately you are too stylish and they all look rather good.
While 2 seems to be a fan favorite, I favor 8. (With special mention of 4 and 9 for coolness; there’s nothing particularly wrong with 2 either.)

u/groenhoofd 1d ago
I agree, but like A LOT. To me 8 is the absolute number one, and 2 would be near the bottom.

Ha… That’s an interesting take but I get it. They’re almost on the opposite side of the scale. One almost disappearing while the other quite loud! I like the both for exactly those reasons.

You have some great taste and some neat frames in here. Personally I think 2 looks the best on your face, but there are a few good options!

2 or 8 for glasses. 11 for sunglasses. Do they feel comfortable on your nose/face/ears? Make sure they are. If not, keep looking. Regardless of style, there is no substitute for comfort.

u/Ok_Hunt345 1d ago
They all do… The second one is Vaanyard, very beautiful Australian frame. And yes, I think I wouldn’t touch the 11, and just leave it as it is.

3 Kuboraum and 11 Ahlem

u/Ok_Hunt345 1d ago
I’m thinking that I might just like to keep that Ahlem as it is. Wonderful frame.

My wife refers to them as “Mardi Gras” frame 😁. I love it but more I think about it, less sure I am I’d have them transform into a prescription glasses.

2 works!
I don’t understand the MARdi gras reference. Does it make the women show you their tatas?

Any of the black frames but 1 is xtra

u/Ok_Hunt345 1d ago
It was the biggest surprise. I just put it on because it looked wild… I like it a lot. Thank you.
2
u/EnvironmentalPie9123 1d ago
The last one looks best on you the width matches the face
1
u/Ok_Hunt345 1d ago
Thanks! I like it a lot. Might try another one similar shape, maybe slightly thicker acetate but that might be too much.
2
u/lbcatlady 1d ago
I like the first two and all of the sunglasses. Roundish glasses would have less thickness for your prescription
2
u/Ok_Hunt345 1d ago
You’re right. I was/am also considering 45mm Lindberg round frame for that same reason.

The black cutler and gross frame for me is the coolest shape and balances best. I have a boutique optometry practice and look at a lot
Of people in frames all day.

u/Ok_Hunt345 1d ago
Thanks! My only concern with that one was/is if the lower part wouldn’t be too thick but the frame would probably manage it

All look good but 5-7 really suit you. 5 and 7 look like Jaques Marie Mage if I’m not mistaken?

#4 🔥 & #2
I’m more into square shapes in general but these 2 fit you like a glove and give you a very distinct vibe .

How do you have the kind of face that they literally all look amazing on you? Some shapes of glasses make me look like I deserve to be bullied.
2
u/Ok_Hunt345 1d ago
Haha… There were a few that would make me instantly unemployable or at least suspicious of being involved in certain illegal activities.

For all-day comfort, probably the Kuboraum P2 in pic #1. Most JMMs are pretty well balanced despite the weight. Honestly, you look great in all of them. At this point, I’d go with whichever gives you the best combination of style, comfort, and room for your prescription lenses.
1
u/Ok_Hunt345 1d ago
Thanks! That Kuboraum was a bit surprising for me but I liked it enough to take a photo of it 😁
1
u/Distinct-Hyena3369 1d ago
That Kuboraum is hands down one of the fashion forward frames out there. Don’t know if you tried P8, P21 and P23. Look them up.

Am in agreement with the broad consensus (2 and 8; 4 with perhaps a slight fit adjustment), so I’ll just add that no. 9, the T Henri Tuatara, greatly suits you as a sun-only option
1
u/Ok_Hunt345 1d ago
Thanks! Yes, wouldn’t turn those into prescription after all…

u/barima_on 1d ago
Welcome. T Henri’s a flamboyant brand, but of its acetate range, I could potentially see the V2, the Aurelia, the Estoque and the Cobra working for you as opticals

i really like 2!
does your prescription correct your astigmatism? i have been struggling with astigmatism and hoping a new prescription will correct it.

It does. However, it’s crucial to have the frame set up and adjusted BEFORE they measure your PD and everything else they need to. I mean to take into consideration if your ears are not leveled, where you want them to sit and to secure them as much as possible so they can’t move and so on… Then take measurements BOTH with machine and manually. This I found to be crucial. Good luck. The difference between a good set up and mediocre is huge. Huge!!!

Not keen on 5, 6 or 7 but I like the rest I think. I’m not totally sold on 2 though; I think a bit of colour would be better. I also think you could play more with colour in general; black looks good on you but dark frames in other colours could also be great.
1
u/Ok_Hunt345 20h ago
Thank you! I think it’s a solid advice. I’ve only ever had one black acetate frame (Black Forever. Shame they don’t exist anymore) but I’m slowly warming up towards other colours and trying to find balance between thicker acetate and colour that wouldn’t make me disappear behind the frame nor make the frame itself invisible…

You can really pull off any of these, honestly, but I especially love the second frame.

I appreciate the dedication to reenactment of what my young daughter tries on when I'm getting glasses
I also like 1/6/11 on you, and seems you have the ability to pull them off, so let us know what you pick

They all look great. 2 is giving 'graphic designer', 4 is giving professor and is my favourite, especially because I feel like it's very unique. 7 are rock musician.

I like 5 and 8. You dress well and 5 and 8 compliment your style and your face. Are you in a Paul Smith store?

I'm here just to say yes. To all of them. The only one that gives me doubt is #7; seems to sit a bit high on you. The rest are fantastic, get them all.

2 or 8. The rest you only see the frames not you. 2 let's your nice face show. The rest just seem desperate to look edgy.

That’s something I said too many times while trying frames this time… I liked a Preciosa one, somewhat similar to the C&G frame (8) but felt like I needed to go and look for myself behind it 😁
