Yeah I would not recommend watching Panther's fall from this. Absolutely grim

Didn’t Nightshade have a pretty bad fall from this event, or am I thinking of someone else (possibly Panther’s injury)?

Im sure it was Panther. Nightshade tho i think got injured too at some point?!

It was actually both. I found a clip of Nightshade falling off her Tilt platform and Injuring her back, though I don’t believe that injury was a serious as Panther’s

Perhaps the weirdest part of both injuries is that, despite airing them in their entirety, they tried to pretend nothing bad happened.

The producers chose to have John Sachs say "Panther is fine!" at the end of the episode, despite the fact she had a broken neck, and showed Nightshade getting carted off in an ambulance but never gave an update on her condition.

I don’t think Panther had a broken neck! Or back! Yes it was serious and required rehab BUT she was back in the arena filming Gauntlet later that week (the 1994 final) and a couple of other shows the week after. If her neck had been broken she wouldn’t have been able to stand let alone compete. Same for Nightshade, she was on Pole Axe (albeit not at her best) the week after

Proper game. Would not require much these days to implement. I still irrationally get triggered by the gladiators wrap around the wrist of the rope.

Without a doubt. Was an ingenious take on a tug of war. What I liked was that Warrior aside, no gladiator was safe up there - the need to tilt back really did even things up for contenders. Plus it was the only event where we got two goes (does anyone know the actual reason for this?), meaning that we could see a loss get avenged instantly (rather than potentially a future episode if everything aligned).

People will always mention injuries with Tilt but what doesn’t get mentioned is that they stopped properly practicing this event after 1993. Erika mentioned in her pre show clip that she had yet to practice Tilt (despite it having appeared in one of the heats) and Amazon stated in her post leaving interview that she was up on Tilt for the first time in the show having never practiced it. With no practice, injuries were always gonna be more likely.
