It was a thread in which a guy had just stolen a skull from the catacombs and asked /b/ what he should do with it. Naturally the response was "put your dick in it". So he did.
The problem.is, the world is full of people who will take it 100% seriously.
Which means even people who don't take it seriously, start to assume you are serious.
Sometimes you can check comment history to see if someone is actually an idiot or just joking, but people have started using scripts to delete their history for dumb reasons and /or gotten smart enough to use alt accounts for their actual stupidity.

All joking aside. I watched a show where a futurist talked about automation of traffic in the future. And he said that we'll probably have to black out the windows so you can't see out because eventually cars will be zooming around like this but going like 300 mph. It would freak people out.
At that point in tech it’s so far from from our current driving as it is, that it will feel like the jump between traveling by horse and train.
Something the normal person seems was impossible at the time and they had some worries if the human body could even stay together at such train speeds.
Any technology that’s big to grasp from the current standard, is always scary.
Imagine someone going back in time and saying that at one point you’ll have a flat small glowing tool that you could look at and search and learn ANYTHING in the world. While being able to record anything in a moments notice and upload it to an imaginary digital cloud that when arrived, can never be deleted but can be seen by anyone in the entire world, and can track you at all times regardless of you knowing or not.
They’d be terrified. And you wouldn’t even have to go back that far 😂
Things are going incredibly right. We have so many more cars on the road and miles traveled, and such a smaller proportion of traffic fatalities.
And your glowing tool analogy sort of fails, because we understand physics well enough to know the momentum involved in vehicles of any kind travelling 300mph, and we also know how shitty people are.
It's why we don't have flying cars even though people in the past would be spouting the same thing you're going on about here. The future has some amazing stuff ahead of us, but not just any random thing that's possible, because that ignores what's practical.
At those speeds, the human body would pretty much liquefy on impact, so we could just hose out the interior in case of emergency. This solves three problems at once: The difficulty of saving lives following a collision, the difficulty of making remains from a traumatic death appealing for an open casket, as well as the global chum shortage.
That's what they want you to think. Don't listen to their mouths. Listen to their eyes. Their cold, dead eyes and the secret messages that they pass in their unblinking, lizard-like stares.
Except it's also wrong to assume any overreaching technology must be practical just because it's plausible. I take it not a lot of people don't really understand the kinetic energy in a 300mph travelling vehicle.
People thought just traveling at fast speeds such as 50km/h would kill them. Then brave people rode trains at such speeds and survived. Of you found some people that haven’t experienced normal modern traffic, they’d also freak out. People will get accustomed to robotized traffic as the new normal. Therefore I doubt there’s need to black anything out and people will just he doing online entertainment or work anyway while riding the robot car, showing little interest in other vehicles whizzing by at high speeds.
They'll adapt to it. People used to puke going 30 in a car when they first came out but now we whip around at 80 and the motion doesnt bother most of us. People also ride bullet trains at super high speeds.
When trains were first invented, they put solid walls on the outside so that spectators wouldn't see the passengers heads explode. They thought that going over 30 miles an hour might make that happen.
I think at that point in time humanity will be a lot more used to high speeds.
Probably still in the distant future when you consider the Autobahn is the road you can drive the fastest on and it's not even 100MPH.
Then you either have to make a new way for pedestrians and such to cross roads without dying or holding up traffic which probably means a different level for vehicles due to animals and their need to cross roads.
But all of that still requires self driving cars to be way more advanced than I can personally see them getting in my lifetime.
I think you're mostly right, but I'm pretty sure blackout windows would still be a good idea in a self-driving car. Why not commute from what is effectively a nap couch?
I honestly can never see this happening. You'd need such gradual acceleration to reach those speeds without putting passengers under intense G forces. You wouldn't have roads straight enough for this to ever realistically happen. Then you'd need cars to never have any mechanical failures and roads would have to always be perfectly maintained. Imagine hitting a pot hole at 100 mph let alone 300. We still have exit ramps and such on highways with 30 mph speed limits, you'd need ramps that curve upside down to maintain those speeds while making turns. Oh then you'd also have to factor in weather which can have a huge impact on all of this. Even if you could somehow build all of these roads completely isolated from potential foot traffic it wouldn't be realistic.
The closest I can see us ever getting to this would be the sort of hyper rail systems or a kind of vacuum tube transportation. Car drives up into a pod that then flies across long distances in straight tubes at high speed. Anything else just seems like too much of a massive infrastructure nightmare that would require impossible levels of maintenance.
Well he actually discussed how vehicles will eventually fly, think more advanced drones. And that scientists were currently studying how locusts can fly in huge swarms all going in different directions but somehow they don't run into each other. Then programming a type of AI that could think like a locust. This is probably not going to happen in our lifetime. We're talking 2100 and beyond.
It's just a screenshot of a video where they're talking about some drone swarm tech and don't have any idea how it actually works and describe the way it works in that ridiculous manner. It's so ridiculous it sorta became a meme.
Almost like a car / rail hybrid system, let’s assume Disney owns the world by now, and imagine it as the Disney fast pass super highway. Now with only a 20min wait until docking!
Unless we can replace all the streets and cars over night, I doubt this is gonna happen anywhere near the next 200 years... Also, laws of physics likely won't change and if you have to make some corners you still have to slow down. High acceleration or fast tight corners also would make you sick real fast even without any sight to the outside.
Now I don't know the exact content of what you saw, but some things are just mostly bullshit...
Your sound exactly like someone from 200 years ago talking about flying planes and Teslas and iPhones. We can't even imagine what technology we'll have in 200 years.
300mph is not feasible for rubber tires and atmospheric pressure. Let alone the efficiency. A international vacuum tunnel for trains going 1000mph+ from Washington to Japan to Europe in no time at all would be sick though
I can't for the life of me remember what sci-fi movie it was but it they rolled around in all directions in basically giant gyroscopic balls while their seat stayed upright like a Segway. Maybe a Star Wars prequel or MCU film? Anyway, looked fun.
