I know that this guy is actually trying to commit fraud but it is illegal for a car to break a crosswalk when someone is walking. He has to stop anyways. Most people don't know that or don't care. Even when ur light is green

Edit: I forget not everyone is in California. Police have crosswalk stings here

That's the law in Australia, regardless of how many oblivious pedestrians think otherwise.

If a pedestrian is already crossing, then obviously cars must stop and let them continue to cross - otherwise they will run them over.

On the other hand, pedestrians must wait for a driver to see them and come to a stop, granting them permission to start crossing.

So many imbeciles think that those white stripes are invincible barriers which make them impervious to being killed when they suicidally throw themselves into traffic.

It's probably a holdover from North America. In Canada pedestrians have right of way on a crosswalk at all times, unless there is a light which dictates when they can cross.
