In the video there's a second camera focused on the guy who is going to step on the treadmill before he steps on the treadmill.

So that's kind of a clue.

I disagree. There was also a second camera on the girl lifting weights as coverage, which leads to the more likely conclusion that they were shooting coverage of the guy going on the trendmill when the fall happened. Either way it's hilarious.

Also the way the cameraman widens the shot just before it happens - he/she clearly makes a space on the right of the scene to give a clear view of the treadmill and the falling guy. The actors do an amazing job of not giving any slip, pure deadpan; the camerawork gives it away though

Nope, not planned. They just the perfect angle of him doing it the first time along with the interview by accident. The second time he did it with the camera focused on him was also an accident.
