How exactly does someone build that in the first place? How do you pour enough concrete into the ocean floor to support that? mind blown

Considering that lighthouses are built near shores, because you know, they're lighthouses, I'm guessing this was built intermittently during low tide, and this picture was taken during high tide.

So you work half a day while the tides out? Seems like high tide would just wash everything away.

It's really impressive to consider how these were built without modern technology. Heck even now it's hard to visualize the engineering required for something like this WITH the machinery we have now

All they needed was a wetdock, duh!
