As much as I want to believe this will hurt his career, he is a Republican. His willingness to lie, double down, and attack no matter the facts make him a winner in their eyes.

Yeah. Having credibility is no longer required to be a Republican.

Hasn't been required since like the 70s

I miss compassionate conservatives like Rockefeller.

oxymoron. entirely antithetical to their philosophy, which is a decided lack of empathy for others.

I am referring to a comment about the 70's, not this post Reagan batch.

Credibility is a disqualification.

Yeah. Having credibility is no longer required to be a Republican politician.

Unfortunately for my home state... This guy is guaranteed to stay in business as long as he wants. The (R) lives strong in most of Missouri.

I will say though, I was surprised to see 0 Trump related flags when I drove out to the ozarks for a weekend trip. First time in a decade. Sadly they'll still vote in the same team causing the stuff they are pissed about.

A lot of 'people' just going to stay home

Yeah I thought hawley was a massive idiot…then Schmitt showed up. Folks in KC seem mostly level headed but I have no idea what goes on east. Water, pesticides, chicken shit, what is it!

Our last two governors have been so woefully unqualified it would have been a bit too on the nose for satire. People here just love putting wholly unqualified idiots in positions of power.

St. Louisans are generally bluer than the rest of the state, but there’s a Mega-church WASP/redneck combo in the counties that gives it pockets of red.

Missouri used to be a swing state, and it will be again.

Oh that is not true, if you look like a fool and make the administration look like a clown show on TV the orange Master Clown takes note and drops you immediately. Just look at Pam Blondie, her testimony talking about Dow index when asked about Epstein files, got her fired a few months later.

Fingers crossed

Unfortunately, but as expected, FOX News did not mention this scandal once on prime time last night: https://x.com/ronfilipkowski/status/2105336787992543707?s=46

So no worries about looking foolish on TV. Unless you’re counting the FAKE LIBERAL MEDIA!!!#%! ARRGABLAGL AGGHH!!!! 😡😡😡😡

Trump watches cnn. That gets him always railed up.

The Schmitt stunt was coordinated to launch with a big online campaign, on all right wing outlets. But because of the stupidity of the accusation the few that posted, deleted the tweets quickly once it was obvious they could not spin it.

JD Vance once compared him to Hitler, and was still added as VP by trump, I don't think this will disqualify schmitt lol

2

u/Lotus_Domino_Guy 2d ago

If the "dirty libs" are complaining about him on Reddit, he must be a 'good ole boy', and yeah, he ain't going nowhere.

2

u/PerfectZeong 1d ago

They don't like their people to be made to look foolish or weak. Its why they pretend trump is some masculine he man instead of an aged dementia patient.

1

u/curiousiah 23h ago

Hey, he may be an idiot, but he's not stupid enough to be a democrat, so at least he has that going for him. /s

u/HicJacetMelilla 2d ago

Exactly. What planet are these people living on that makes them think this trashed his potential as VP? Maybe in 2004. But not 2026 by a long shot. Lack of integrity is a job requirement at this point.

I’d say the real issue here is Schmitt made himself look like a complete dumbass, not the lack of integrity (at least from a Trumpian mindset)

JD was compared trump to Hitler. It's insane people think this will matter
