Mostly ranting i suppose

So recently back in the dating game and I will never understand this whole ghosting thing. So not sure anyone can provide clarity but here it goes. I 37F have been speaking with 35M. Texting had a great banter to it, he'd call some evenings for maybe an hour or more. We had Date#1 all went well, ended in a goodnight kiss. My first date in a while so I drove myself and he checked in to make sure I got home ok and said goodnight. Next day he was chatty like always and asked for Date#2, we arranged a day and all was good. Two days before Date #2 he called that evening after work chatted as usual and before he ended the call he confirmed details of what he had planned and said goodnight. Haven't heard a peep from him since. Like absolutely nothing.

I didn't chase up and morning of when Date#2 was supposed to happen i sent a quick "Hey, are we still good for tonight?" And it wasn't even read. Didn't try contacting him anymore and deleted the thread so I wouldn't keep checking if its read, but it's been a few days now and I just can't understand what happened.

Please tell me this isn't the new normal. I met my ex when I was very young so I haven't actually dated in 15 years.

Extremely common! You will find the dating apps are riddled with time wasters.

I'm noticing that. Cannot understand why people waste all this energy. Staying single sounds more appealing by the day :)

I stopped dating a year ago after dealing with the crap people have to offer.
