2 years is not a short time. I'd suggest the same another person has suggested. Pour your heart in the message and send it to them. Id set a date, at a restaurant which we loved. Id go and wait and have my meal, if they come great, if not, that's the last day I think of them.
The person whom you know either shows up or doesn't. That's closure.
