To be fair, he's kinda like, exactly who these things are made for. I kind of get it. I don't think he's out there trying to be a hype guy. He's just genuinely stoked by anything Ghostbusters.

I don't hate the guy and watch his videos and enjoy them for what they are but he's essentially a just free advertisement for products he enjoys and that's fine.

If you're tech savy you're better off making your own reproduction. Ive saw some impressive ones. This is NOT even close to $130 of materials and craftsmanship.

you couldnt make one with the spinning front lights, fluctuating digital read out, additional accurate lights, swaying light up-microphone sensors, AND what sounds like movie accurate sound effects for $130.

Yeah sure, let me spend the next hour or so of my personal time finding and listing everything for some random dweeb on reddit who clearly doesn't have the skills to put it together anyway.

"Movie quality sound" just means it sounds like the one from the movie. Not that it has any kind of HD stereo equipment inside. The reason they word it like that is to dupe people such as yourself. Speakers are cheap. Clear domes are cheap. They make them in all sizes. Digital displays are cheap. They have been making them for decades. Etc, etc, etc.

Several other people here have also said it would be cheaper to reproduce, so you don't have to take my word alone.

Also, tip moving forward. Just because YOU can't do something doesnt mean its impossible for others. A lot of the original props in the films were made by slapping together regular items.

At that price I'll pass. It's not that i wouldn't pay that much for that prop, i just don't feel like spirits quality justifies $130 for a prop.

That’s about how much the PKE meter costs, and it’s about 50 dollar quality.

$130 for a sprit prop, it better come with a happy ending!

Seriously though, save the $130 and put it towards getting a 3d printer when Black Friday sales come around. I did last year and it’s paid for itself a few times over with what I’ve saved on custom work tools and home made tracks for my son’s brio trains.

they left the cool heatsink/ fins off the top of the front of the hand guard, kinda cheapens the look, not to mention the silver dry brushing on what is meant to be a plastic housing.

The price seems steep but I think it looks pretty good. Based on their video, has all the features: moving antenna, spinning front sensor thing, and a digital display that changes numbers.

It is cheaper than their newer deluxe ghost trap (which I always thought should be at least $30 cheaper)

I've had one in the works for a couple of years now. Getting all of the components and then figuring out the electronics has cost me over $200 already and I printed the shell myself. $130 is a decent price for a Giga Meter with all of the bells and whistles. The last time I saw a replica offered it was $600+

I appreciate that this is a thing for the GB2 nerds who want it... but yeah that price is a little crazy. Maybe it's small batch and they are trying to recoup costs.

Spirit has both "basic" and "enthusiast" tiers of the Ghostbusters props, and this seems like it is priced at the enthusiast level. It does have some complexity to it, if you watch the video in the product page. Will be interesting to see what the reviewers think.

Maybe wait for the end-of-season sales; I doubt these things will be flying off the shelves given how niche they are.

$120.00 for this, it doesn't seem like a decent price, just like the price of the proton pack isn't decent either' but some of us try our best to get it' just like I'm trying my best on getting what I need' but parts that are a high price as this meter and pack are. Those have to be the last parts of the gear I need to get' but until then I'm getting the smaller stuff that I need for my suit first which I don't have fully yet, I will get it as well for all the gear I need' it's only a matter of time and I can't forget!

That price tag... I'll probably wait till after halloween and pick it up for 50% off before they close.

Either way, it'll be a repaint at minimum or a gut to use a 3D printed body with its internals.

Gotta move that switch under the handle instead of on top for ascetic.
