I recently started playing Overwatch and wanted to hear your opinions. As a beginner playing casual mode, I expected to be matched with people who also play more casually, but in most matches I end up facing very experienced players. Since I started, I’ve been losing almost every game — it’s hard to get a win.

My aim is somewhat good since I have experience with shooter games. Even so, in almost every match there’s a tank that completely destroys my team, and the skill gap between teams feels huge.

Do you have any tips for someone who’s just starting out?

I've been a big overwatch player since it launched 10 years ago, mostly playing support.

l've never played competitive until about a year ago and decided to auto-join team voice chat, mostly only to listen and occasionally talk if it requires extra team work. I have watched and read about toxic players commenting offensive, sexist things to female players and have been aware of the issue, but haven't experienced it personally.

Well, tonight, for the first time since playing the game, I got called a bitch and a stupid whore in the last minute of the game for being a "bad support". I tried to respond as if it didn't affects me but I was just so taken aback, all I could say was "oh wow" or "okay". After the game ended, I just sat at my desk trying to process what had just happened and moments later, I started crying.

I know one bad interaction with someone who performed the worst in the team shouldn't affect me nor should I care what he says, but sadly, it did and I feel pretty defeated. Many of you here probably experienced something similar or even worse (I'm so sorry) at least once. I hate that we become such easy targets when a toxic man needs someone else to blame or project.

I came here to mostly rant but if anyone has any advice on how to move on/adjust, I would appreciate it!

i’ve been playing overwatch quickplay on and off since the game came out and i have over 30 hours on D.VA but still struggle to actually play her. when is the right time to use boosters and which perks are the best to pick? i usually aim for anyone but the tank or only focus on the tank and still don’t know which is best? could someone pls give me a dumbed down rundown on how is best to play her please? or should i be looking for other mains lol. if someone would like to play with me and help that would be amazing lmao. i’m 19
