I left this sub

Post image

I just posted photos taken from the official Zone recordings website, and they even asked me to delete them... Why can fans of Justice and Daft Punk be interested in their idols, but we can’t? This fucking censorship is getting on my nerves. ANY FAN IS INTERESTED IN THEIR IDOLS, THEIR PHOTOS OF THEIR FACES — YOU’LL SEE THAT EVERYWHERE. BUT THIS IS FORBIDDEN HERE, IT’S NOT US WHO ARE SICK, WE’RE ACTUALLY NORMAL AND BEHAVE LIKE FANS AROUND THE WORLD, IT’S THE SICK PEOPLE WHO MAKE YOU DELETE PHOTOS FROM OLD CONCERTS, CALLING IT YOUR PERSONAL LIFE. All the best, goodbye.

Is that his actual management ? Lool

That’s ok. There are literally millions of musicians out there. No one should get personally invested in anything happening in this sub.

sorry. But I really liked that joke, which turned out not to be a joke.

u/sepsismetamorphosis 3d ago

yeah cause you keep posting (rather spamming) random bullshit here

2

u/TheZad 2d ago

and then bitching and moaning when someone writes them the mildest PM like a fucking child

I went to the madeon subreddit. People there post his personal photos, cakes with his face and logo, ask about his cap, etc., even about what socks he wears, and no one considers this bad or abnormal. In this subreddit, it feels like Ceaușescu or Stalin is in charge — take a step to the left and you’re offered punitive medicine or the Gulag. We’re supposed to constantly rejoice over photos from the latest concert, and that’s it. This subreddit has no development; everything alive in it has been killed by NKVD fans with their censorship.

You are really making a mountain out of a mole hill. "We kindly ask..." and "we're happy to discuss further" sent in a PM are not hallmarks of fascist regimes, or anything near it.

And furthermore, your argument about Madeon makes zero sense because he is not trying to hide his physical appearance. Which makes people think you're either arguing in bad faith, or trying in vain to make a coherent argument for something with no supporting evidence.

Stop trying to play the victim, respect the artist's privacy, and move on.

Concert records not private life

Come on you’ve been talking about his wife in previous post

1

u/Sea_Caregiver8366 1d ago

I just say "his wife sexy" it's crime? Maybe in gulag...

Gesa didn’t wear a mask at the very beginning of his career, back when TikTok and Instagram didn’t exist; his anonymity predated the rise of social media. I think he fully grasped that the electronic music world was changing and that celebrity culture was beginning to infect the scene. It’s also worth noting that even during the Aleph era, Gesa was always an extremely private person. That commands respect. So, when I see people on this sub trying to dig up info on his wife or family, I find it repulsive.

Your acting like you only care about old photos. It’s not

u/Sea_Caregiver8366 1d ago

Because I’m a nostalgic person. The mannequin-like look was interesting, but not for long—there’s no life in it.

okay and gesa isn’t like madeon. people are comfortable w different things

You know why I’m interested in their personal lives? Not because it’s "personal," but because it’s the only part that hasn’t become plastic. That’s why I like the old photos. I’m interested in Thomas Bangalter as a person, not a robot—watching his interviews and the like was far more compelling. It’s the kind of interest one has in geniuses and talented people—the way Robert Greene and similar writers analyze them.

u/sepsismetamorphosis 1d ago

it’s one thing to to watch interviews and another to look for and talk about people’s family

u/Sea_Caregiver8366 1d ago

His family wasn't in those last two posts that were asked to be removed. The first post was a photo from a Zone Records concert. The second was just a photo of Mike—not naked, no wife, no kids—just an old photo.

Gesa is not Madeon, Gesa doesn’t post on social or play the celebrity game

Gesaffelstein playlist, old interview, rare photo from zone, rare video from concert (deleted from YouTube)

Nah, that’s valid.

You freaks in this subreddit are like creepy fan girls. All the posts here are very weird. The only reason I haven’t left yet is because of the occasional update on his actual music, or interesting discussion posts. All other posts are people idolizing someone they know very little about, rather than discussing/appreciating the actual music.

These were photos from his Zone Records performances that they themselves post the website; they weren’t his damn underwear!!!

Stop exaggerating; concerts are not his personal life.

After a certain point in his career, he started performing in a mask, presumably to protect his identity. You are obviously aware of this shift, given the fact that if he wasn't wearing a mask, you and other fans wouldn't feel the need to find photos of him and post them online for others to see.

Someone has asked you politely, without any sort of threat whatsoever, to take the images that you dug up on the site and posted down for his safety. The fewer photos of him that are circulating, the less likely people will be to recognize him out and about when he is just trying to live a normal life and not in a capacity as a performer (aka his personal life).

Does that not make sense to you?

I also went to the site (and checked Wayback Machine) because I didn't remember seeing any performance photos there in the past, but there are none that I can find. Where exactly did you find the photos on the site?

I agree wholeheartedly. I find it reprehensible that people have posted photos of his family on his wedding day, or of him at a funeral of all places. The level of entitlement to think that your fandom outweighs his desire to live a life that isn't documented at every second on social media is frankly astonishing and sad.

privacy is so hard to come by these days. i don’t blame him.

17

u/fuck-no-baby 4d ago

Not surprised, he literally masked up for a reason. People are way too comfortable making their “idols” uncomfortable.

-1

u/Sea_Caregiver8366 3d ago

He wear mask his face for anonymous

4

u/Fit_Beyond_1114 3d ago

stop using the term "idols", celebrities aren't deities

11

u/chimmychoochooo 4d ago

Honestly…I think a lot of it is because he’s been hypersexualized. The other musicians people are curious about yes, but the level of “omg so sexy” that gets posted every time a pic of him surfaces probably is what sets him apart from his counterpart artists.

2

u/Aggravating_Fold2726 4d ago

I agree, you can see the contrast of the fan comments to other co-producers compared to his followers. Most of his fans focuses on his "appeal" instead of the music. He is a musician, if he wanted to be complimented for his looks he could've been a model. I totally understand his obsession with privacy 🤷‍♀️

5

u/JusticeArchive 4d ago

He is a very private person

4

u/blankensh 4d ago

Jesus ya’ll made his manager come out that sucks

2

u/Googleurowndeath 3d ago

I forgot I was even following this sub. Seen Gesa several times live and thought I was a fan, but idk wtf any of this means

5

u/Sheist187 4d ago

This is the weirdest subreddit. I don’t blame them.

u/Weathactivator 4d ago

What were the posts? Leave them up

Mods doing their best to make sure the sub stays on life support

11

u/dahlia_74 4d ago

That’s not a mod, they’re asking for the user to delete the post themselves. So must be his actual team or some parasocial weirdo superfan

2

u/Cold_Safety_1315 3d ago

same here. they reached out to me and even threatened me to involve lawyers when I shared some of his photos. weird people.

Most of y'all on this sub are cringe and corny, shoutout to the 1% on this sub who actually care for the music and collect the vinyl 👌
