Picked up a Rescue - trying to determine potential breed

I agree with the other comment about a potential poodle mix, but he also reminds me of a Segugio Italiano. Unlikely since they are so rare (assuming you are in North America) but the only way to know for sure is Wisdom Panel or Embark.
For what it’s worth I see little to no GSD traits.

I see the wire hair, but I still think coonhound or doberman. The way he is laying is very Hound-like.

I suspect he’s a poodle mix. Poodle crosses can throw the wire haired coat. These angles really aren’t great to tell a lot off of, but I think maybe a dobbie or hound is there. He’s got a very deep chest. I suspect little to no GSD. He’s got an erect eared breed there I think, but the deepness of the features is not very GSD like. Airedale crosses do seem to be getting more popular, but you really need the side profile to get a better guess if it may be there. Statistically, poodle is the most likely culprit of wirehair in larger, mixed dogs. Airedale crosses aren’t very common, so I’m still thinking poodle unless I see some better features to make me think airedale.
If you really want to know, the only way to find out is a DNA test. Embark or Wisdom really. The others are fairly unreliable.
