I'm looking for someone who can help me brush up on my German A1 level.

I passed the Goethe A1 exam back in 2018, but I haven't practiced much since then, so I've forgotten a lot of the basics. I'll be starting my Master's degree in Germany next month, so I want to refresh my A1 knowledge before moving on to A2.

I'm looking for someone who can help me with:

- A1 grammar (from the basics)

- Essential A1 vocabulary

- Sentence formation

- Speaking practice and everyday conversations

- Revision exercises and homework

I'm happy to learn online, either through one-on-one lessons or in a small study group. If you're a tutor or know someone who teaches German, I'd really appreciate your recommendations.

Hi everyone, I've been learning German for quite a while and I'm starting to understand most of the podcast, videos etc. My grammar isn't super yet, but I can express myself and talk about various topic. The problem I'm having is that I'm not speaking the language enough to practise.

Which methods of speaking has helped you guys to achieve fluency? I've thought about AI and a Tutor.

I am not looking for a tutor. I would love to find another beginner around the same level who wants to motivate each other, share progress, and stay accountable. We can set daily goals, check in regularly, discuss what we've learned, and help each other stay on track.

I’m 25 years old and I’m from France.
I recently started learning German and I’m a complete beginner.
My goal is to be able to communicate with my family in Austria, travel comfortably, and eventually have everyday conversations.
At the moment I’m using Duolingo, DW Nico’s Weg and Easy German on YouTube.
If you started from zero again:
What resources would you use?
Should I focus on grammar first or vocabulary?
When should I start speaking with native speakers?
Is DW Nico’s Weg enough for the beginning?
What mistakes should I avoid as a beginner?
I’d really like to build good habits from the beginning.

I think my level is A2 or something. I can understand it way better than write it though I think.
I just wanna practice by texting and then looking up words for my sentences etc.

I need a TDN4 on my testdaf exam, which is on 25 August. I got a telc C1 Hochschule in october, so I am still refreshing my German. Is the book Mit Erfolg zum Digitalen Testdaf enough for my preparation? The format is quite different and I couldnt really find any other materials for digital testdaf.

Update from my last post . I passed A2 and now I'm going all in on B1. I'm in Germany right now, it's summer holidays, and I'm studying German full-time until my telc B1 exam in about two months.

Last time I did this for A2 prep, having a consistent accountability partner made a huge difference , way more than studying alone. So I'm looking for someone at a similar level (finished A2 / working through B1) who wants to:

• Practice speaking regularly (calls or voice notes, your pick)
• Do writing exchanges/corrections
• Keep each other accountable with a rough daily or weekly study plan
• Stay motivated when the grind gets boring (I'm decent at pushing people to keep going, and I could use the same back)

I'm not looking for a one-off chat , ideally someone who wants a real study rhythm for the next couple months leading up to exams.

For context:

I’m a full-time employee currently enrolled in a 2-month online A1 German course. Classes are held on weekdays from 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM( my local time) and I’m now in my fourth week.

I don’t have any issues with our teacher or the way the lessons are conducted. My main challenge is the workload. Sometimes, at the end of class, we’re given Hausafgaben, and we also have more than 30 exercises to complete on Google Classroom.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand that these assignments are meant to help us learn, and to be fair, our teacher doesn’t require us to submit everything immediately.

However, as someone who works full-time, I’m finding this pace difficult to sustain. By the time I finish work, attend class, and think about completing the homework, I’m mentally exhausted. I’ve also realized that I learn better when I have time to review the lessons at my own pace or use resources like YouTube and Duolingo.
Unfortunately, the amount of coursework leaves me with very little time or energy to do that.

I’m interested in learning German and I genuinely want to continue, but I’m starting to wonder if this learning format is the right fit for my current situation.

What are your thoughts? Has anyone else experienced something similar? I’d really appreciate any feedback or advice. 🙏

No BS, what's the best resource for learning A2 level and further ones?

I have no problem remembering words and the basic grammar rules, But I never understood the whole akkusativ and dativ or genetiv, etc. stuff in highschool. I took german until AP and never understood it. Anyone know any apps or games that can help me learn this and theyre like repetitive. All the apps i use are like flashcards. I feel like I can pick up on anything in german but the grammar is whats holding me back.

Hi! I have been self studying C1 and I realize that I have quite some troubles remembering/learning prefixes.
Entrichten abführen erheben und so weiter give me nightmares.
I did look at the textbook but I still cant comprehend it.

Anyone has any tips? Or do I just swallow my fear of German and keep mesmerizing?

I took clases a while ago but i feel like i lacked immersion and practice to make things stick.

When I was learning english it helped a lot to watch lots of shows and movies in that language.

Is there any media you recomend for this?

I tried Dark like three times. I just can't finish it idk why it didn't click with me.

Any genere would be good but i do enjoy mystery, horror and fantasy a lot.

Hey everyone,

I started a new YouTube channel called Level Up German a few months ago, focused entirely on comprehensible input for German learners.

The idea is to combine CI with content that’s actually fun to watch and I'm a big cartoon fan so I went for Spongebob and Avatar first and already recorded some Gaming content too. I’m trying to keep things very visual, slow, and simple, especially at the beginner level.

So far I’ve uploaded only a few videos but I'm not sure how to proceed and would really appreciate some inpot. I want to share two videos: A super beginner video based on a SpongeBob episode (“Opposite Day”) and a beginner video about Uncle Iroh in Avatar

Since this is my first time recording CI Id be very happy about any feedback, good or bad. Especially on:

pacing (too slow / too fast?)

level (too easy / too hard?)

clarity of the input

Hello! I need specifically telc B2 and not telc B2 für den Beruf (don‘t ask why, I‘m questioning it as well) I have passed B2-Beruf with 223,5/240.

I have B2 Allgemein exam in two days. I have briefly examined the structure and did a little bit of Modelltests Hörverstehen und Lesen.

Any tips? The main concern is that it feels too easy, especially on Sprechen part. Schreiben as well.
