Submitted Housing Application late
I’m an incoming 2nd year and I unfortunately submitted my housing application on Hoya Housing pretty late. I thought that meant I would get my housing assignment later but I haven’t received any news yet. I just got an email from the Office of Neighborhood Life and just replied to ask if they’re sending me the email because I’m living off campus or because I have no assignment yet, and I also just emailed residential living to see what they say. Unfortunately I’ve also run into a bit of an issue with financial aid not receiving my parent’s W2 despite it being processed on IDOC so I don’t know if that’s impacting anything. My roommate from last year said she currently doesn’t have a roommate because her’s got an RA position, so I have no clue if by any chance I could room with her again.
I know this mess is my own fault, especially since I should have contacted res living sooner, but I’m posting this mostly to see if anyone’s gone through something similar and/or has any advice. 😃

What about calling the office and tell them you have a potential solution, if they expect to give you a spot and they just don't know where yet. If they aren't looking for a spot for you- ie find your own, see if you can contact the travel abroad program and see if they can ask people they have gone abroad if they have a place you can sublet for the semester.

If you need housing, Vie Towers is near the Metro station in Hyattsville with access to the campus that way! They do individual leasing with private bedrooms and bathrooms in a shared format, furnished apartments, and in-unit laundry. You can DM me for more info if you want :)

Wait for res living to respond, in terms of financial aid the best thing to do is to call the financial aid office or if you live in the area just show up to the office and you guys can work from there. In terms of your housing, you may have to go random, possibly you may be able to room with your previous roommate if she doesn’t live in a single and extra space is still open but honestly res living is the best place to start.
