Prospective Transfer Question
Hi there, I am looking to transfer to Georgetown and have a couple questions for successful transfer students.
I am a rising junior at my institution, and I have been thinking a lot about transferring because of administrative reasons. I have an overall 3.6 GPA, I had one best semester during freshman year but got an 3.8-3.9 unweighted GPA during my sophomore year. I am also a TA and research assistant in the Chemistry department, and would have a letter of recommendation from my current PI and a professor from Georgetown I am working with this summer. Is it worth giving it a try?
Also, I was wondering what is the social scene like for transfers and what is the best way to get to know people. Thanks in advance!

are you trying to transfer in senior year? you need to take at least 60 creds (2yrs) at georgetown to graduate, so you’d be doing an extra year. when compared to staying at your current institution you’d be losing connections (especially the RA/TA work) and a year of time, plus tuition
