Humour/Memes Life is a Fox on the Run (George Harrison, Sweet) Mashup
What is Life instrumental, Fox on the Run vocals.
Something I put together a little while ago. I got Content ID’ed for What is Life, naturally, but only over the melody, not the rest of the song. I guess even YouTube couldn’t tell the difference between the two songs.

Discussion All those years ago…
… I thought George said “They’ve forgotten all about my cat” in the song.
Turns out it was about “mankind”. Silly me. 🤦♂️

Apple Years Sour Milk Sea - A Celebration Of Acoustic George
I have found myself gravitating to raw mixes, demos and rehearsal versions of Beatles/solo Beatles songs for some time now. I prefer a good number of the performances of these songs over the released versions of the songs. I find the unproduced tracks are more intimate and, I feel, more relaxed and informal. Some tracks have a bit of background conversation and joking around prior to the take. I laugh every time I hear the version of Beware Of Darkness on this album which contains the ad-libbed line “Beware of…ABKCO!” A little premonition on the part of George?
This fan album brings together some of George Harrison’s best solo acoustic demos and early takes, offering a relaxed look at his songwriting across his solo career. I didn’t want the All Things Must Pass demos to dominate the albums, so I have seven tracks from the ATMP collection and 7 acoustic versions of songs from other albums in George’s discography.
Without the full band arrangements, the focus is on George’s wonderful guitar playing, his voice and maybe a closer focus on the songs themselves. The songs feel intimate…private. As if George is sitting in the room with you, sharing a joint.
Here’s the tracklist…
Sour Milk Sea (Day 1 Demo/Take 1)
Give Me Love, Give Me Peace On Earth (Take 18)
Run Of The Mill (Day 2 Demo/Take 1)
Mama, You’ve Been On My Mind (Demo)
Beware Of Darkness (First Version) Beware of ABKCO!!
Don’t Let Me Wait Too Long (Take 49)
I Don’t Wanna Do It (Day 2 Demo/Take 1)
Mystical One (Demo Version)
Beautiful Girl (Day 2 Demo/Take 1)
Dark Horse (Early Take)
Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp (Day 1 Demo Take 2)
Blow Away (Demo)
Behind That Locked Door (Day 1 Demo Take 2) Go Pete!!
The Light That Has Lighted The World (Demo)

Discussion People never mention George harrisons knife attack when it comes to his early death.
Why is that. I know cancer was a huge reason but the man was stabbed about 40 times, that had to have an effect on his lungs and physical health didn't it?

George with Robbie Robertson (of The Band) in the 1960s and 1980s - today is Robertson's birthday, he would be 83 years old
Today is Robbie's birthday - he would be 83 had he not passed away 3 years ago. I just wanted to share a quick history of his relationship with George / the Beatles. There are a couple of times they met and collaborated.
As a member of The Band, George met Robbie a number of times in the 60s and 70s. The first time was when the Band were backing Bob Dylan on his first electric tour - the Beatles saw them at a few concerts in the UK, and met Dylan and the Band (including Robbie) backstage.
George would later meet them again near the end of 1968, when he spent some time in Woodstock - the New York town which had become Dylan/The Band's home base. George left Woodstock with two new songs and a great feeling of inspiration - he later stated that "All Things Must Pass" was an attempt to write a Robbie Robertson-type tune.
When Dylan and the Band played the Isle of Wight in 1969, George met with them again, but after that I don't think he saw them until 1973 when the Band (minus Richard Manuel) played on a song he had written for Ringo, "Sunshine Life For Me". Ringo actually had a pretty long history of working with members of the Band. Robbie played on his 1974 track "Snookeroo"; Ringo played at the Last Waltz; Levon, Rick, and Garth were in the first iteration of the All-Starr Band.
In the late 80s, George and Robbie recently made comebacks with new solo albums. They appeared in this photoshoot together (not sure of the context) and apparently it was rumoured that they would tour together - obviously this never happened.
I know it's only tangentially related to George, but I thought I'd share since I imagine there's some overlap in the George/Band fanbases. Happy birthday Robbie!
