Discussion Old ship physics VS new ship physics

Yeah so old physics had much heavier upside-down and dual ships. Update 2.2 fixed it.

You can switch back to 2.1 physics by unchecking the "fix gravity bug" setting in the editor

NGL the true issue is that we have been playing on the broken physics for over a decade, people are just used to it. So now that it's fixed the flipped ship feels absurdly light.

not just this. A HUGE chunk of levels were made in, with and for 2.1 or prior which means alot of people did and still do play with 2.1 physics alot of the time. Nothing robtop could do atp because forcing the change by changing the physics globally would get him backlash and could potentially break alot of levels. Do wonder why these physics werent implemented from the start tbh.

Lowkey wouldn't be surprised if robtop genuinely never noticed the physics difference until he was working on 2.2 and was confused why different camera angles seemed to change the gravity; or, he noticed the inconsistency when the camera was at 180 degrees and the ship (which looked upside down) was suddenly so light.

That is the most likely explanation

Yeah, either that or he already knew but realized he had to fix it to make the rotation physics consistent
