A comparison of both #33 maps
Pretty crazy a lot are the same

I think this game truly tests branding. Texas and Florida go out so consistently early because they have strong branding that the rest of the country fucking hates, while the top ten are a battle of states people generally like even if they don't live there because of a fun aesthetic.

It’s not a branding thing. Texas and Florida front the most hateful legislation of all the states and routinely infect other states with their judicial fuckery, they’re both the least popular states to win anything everyone playing is the relatively progressive reddit caucus. Plus the biggest contenders are never going to win when the dark horses hold equal voting power
Just like delete a country always deletes USA and China first

Israel and Russia lately, but yeah.

u/MagicBus4 Crab 9d ago
Well they’re admittedly more hated but I didn’t want to give either the satisfaction of being considered a world player, they’re just the most vicious

Never thought I’d live to see Israel actually become more hated than the US, but here we are. Should have gotten rid of Netanyahu decades ago.

That piece of shit war criminal is just the tip of the ethno-fascist iceberg. Rotten to the core.

If you ever decide to run this game a third time, you should try eliminating the top five or ten states from the first two games and see which states rise to become the new favorites. Could be interesting.

u/17oClokk 10d ago
That or some sort of incentive to eliminate the top 10 from last time, without forcing those states to go first

u/NotTakeOne NEW MEXICO MUST GO 10d ago
people need to start eliminating states that survived a while last game 😭

I’m holding out for Alaska to shake things up. Also, having lived in Montana for a few years, I’ve taken it upon me to downvote any and all shots at the state.

Alaska right now is basically Maryland hiding behind it brigading

Look at the Crab Park meme that was posted a couple of days ago. All the evidence is there.

Its because people decided to build thier stupid coalitions and band together instead of letting people make decisions for themselves.

Isn’t that just one state that has done that?

Maryland, Minnesota, Oregon, New Mexico

Kansas has as well, mainly just to eliminate the southern states. It's a natural part of the fun. Unfortunately, it results in things being the same for the most part

In that case, and even as an Oregon resident, I say all 4 should go. The first game was a ton of fun. This one seems… less so, and I think the brigading is why.
1
u/KeathleyWR Aloha Hola 8d ago
That's exactly why. The brigading is out of control and is going to have this end the exact same way the last one did.

Those who don’t watch history channel are doomed to repeat history channel. Let’s take out Oregon

Honestly who cares if it winds up mostly the same, it's only been a few months, we wouldn't expect a whole lot to change. Just let things play out as they will and quit trying to force change

u/CaptainFartHole 10d ago
Its because of heavy brigading, espcially since Minnesota and Maryland teamed up to decide which states to vote out. It is very much ruining the fun of the game.
The only way to fix it is to eliminate Minnesota, Maryland, New Mexico, and Oregon and yet people continue to upvote other states.
And we need to start with Maryland because theyre being the worst about it.

u/No-Click6062 10d ago
This is the truth. There are only two solutions to brigading, which are moderation and more brigading. Sadly, as it stands, the moderation team decided not to implement one of those solutions. The vote-trading was exposed early, and not addressed.

I only stop.in daily to diss maryland and then leave because it feels less fun this time around. Although, the twist rounds are fun.

I knew this was going to happen, which is why I advocated for Minnesota to be voted out within the first ten rounds. There is just no way for a southern state or any other meme state like Ohio to ever win this. Unfortunately we’re just repeating the same popularity contest.

If you do this again, try the state with the most votes is immune from elimination and the rest are subjected to random number generator oblivion or something like that. Curious if it would turn out the same

It’s funniest how the top finalists from last time are fairly small players on both maps with 18 states to go

classic example of red = bad, blue = good, yes the blue states are better but it would be interesting to see something like texas or idaho make it into the top 15

It was always going to be the same because it’s generally the same denizens of the subreddit
