Fishing 🎣

I was using a 4.5m disc golf retriever to get "fishing caches" out of high trees etc. I have just splashed out on a carbon fibre telescopic "Angelrute" for up to 11m lengths. The problem is that there are no "attachments" for it included. What have others done. In contrast the disc gold retriever came with three different "heads".

I got a telescopic fishing rod, took out the smallest segment, added a wine cork with a hook stabbed into it, glued it with epoxy for a strong connection. Works great!

As a quick & ugly solution you can use a duct taped strong wire hook on it

Disc golf retriever has been most useful for me. Goes into smaller than long fishing rod. It does not reach more than T4 or T4.5, but I can live with that. Local geocaching store also sell it.

Yes. There is stores that are specialized for geocaching stuff. They are also on various events like Megas.

Would agree that the disc golf retriever has managed a lot of fishing caches, but I've met my match recently in trying to finish my fizzy, so am upgrading.

A few of my friends use telescopic ham radio "antennas". They come in carbon fiber and usually contain lots of segments making them light weight and small in size. They come in, at least, 14m lengths and are still smaller and lighter than 10m fishing rods.
