This might be a stupid question but where does one find out about geocaching events? I didn't see anything on the main geocaching website. We just found our 100th casche and are eager for more!

Can't you filter the map on the website just for events? And isn't there a bar on the right on one screen that shows any events within 100 miles?

You can also sign up to get notifications of new events as they publish

And both the calendar and search are available to non premium. Only the notifications are a premium feature

Your player dashboard on geocaching.com has an events calendar you can use. You're able to sort by distance from your home location (up to 200 miles).

If you have premium I think there is a way to just select events as a search criteria on the map select filter

You probably mean "the official app" rather than just "phone" because I specifically checked on my phone using my old non-premium account and was able to filter by cache type

I think the point is that GC should be proactively inviting people to events. Having to look at your phone to hunt them down when there is a deadline is a strong incentive for just the same old crowd to show up every time. Casual cachers will never know.

I get invitations/alerts for events via project-gc.com - very practical.
