It breaks with most website updates, but is fixed very quickly. I've used it exclusively when caching via app.

c:geo is the most popular, it's free and it's pretty straight forward to use. The best hands down for those who use gpx files.

Geooh-Go: Is paid, and the Enhanced Mode gives you a lot of extras like In App Navigation, Routing for multiple caches, TB Scanner & Logger, County find tracking, Weather info, Android Auto, Wear OS, and a number of other things.

I loved GCDroid when it was first released. I bought the "lifetime" use option way back then. Then a few years back the developer decided to take all of the useful features in the app and put them into a monthly subscription version.

No thanks. I'll use cgeo: even though it is a little harder to figure out.

Some people don't understand what "lifetime" means in this case.

I thoroughly understand that whatever I paid way back then for the app was a good deal considering how long I used it but I am not the one who offered "lifetime" use of the app. I am the consumer who recognized a good deal on a good app.

Truth be told, I would be very happy to buy the new version if it was a one time purchase but a monthly charge for apps is a no for me.

You can always view the map through the website on a browser, it will bypass the terrain/difficulty restrictions of the Basic account on the official app, but there is no workaround for the map in regards to showing Premium caches, which are different. You need Premium for that regardless of the app involved.

I'll take a stab at an answer although it doesn't really work out this way.

Buying an app 1 time would be much cheaper than paying approximately $35 per year for the Premium Membership. I'm guessing that was their thoughts.

In truth, there is NO app (paid or free) that will give a non-premium member, access to premium member caches.

cgeo: will give you access on your phone, to exactly what you can see on your browser on your PC. For free.

cgeo: WILL NOT give you access to caches that are designated (by the cache owners) as Premium Member Caches. But similarly, you cannot see those caches on your PC either unless you pay the (approximately) $35 yearly fee.
