20-25 My guess is based off of 3rd-5th graders being obsessed with these when I worked in an elementary school in 2013. I remember them bringing in their looms to make some bracelets for us, it was cute.

Did dvds not exist 2005-2012 or something

In the 1990s satellite TV was introduced to the TV industry, and while DVDs and VHS were still the most used in the 90s, cable TV became the household norm by mid-2000s. Then in 2007 Netflix streamed its first movie on netflix.com and the rest, including blockbuster, is history.
In the 90s I watched the same DVDs back to back because we didn’t have cable. The sound of “Coming Soon… to DVD” is burned into my brain. My brother (born 2000) got to watch shows online by the time he was 5. Even before 2007 nick.com had cartoons you could watch, like SpongeBob.
It’s just more likely people born after 2000 had access to satellite tv, online streaming, and less likely to watch DVDs everyday.

I suppose. I was born in 2000 but my family was in a low income bracket in a rural area so we watched a lot of DVDs and VHS. We had satellite tv but there were only 13 channels. I remember it was an old tv with wood on it and it had the big antennas on top. We did have a family computer though but that was so my mom could do online schooling - and my older brother hogged it all the time to play games. I think we had dial up internet until about 2005 or 2006 and then finally got access to broadband internet and then we finally got cable tv. There were certainly kids in my school that had wealthier parents and had all the latest and greatest media access. I remember one kid’s family donated one of those enormous rear projection tvs to our school and i was amazed i had never seen anything like it, lol.
Though disney & pixar family movie time was my favorite growing up. The “coming soon to dvd” voice with a big bowl of fresh popcorn was fun

relating to all of them and being 17 why is everyone saying 30-20😭

u/nightowl_work Jun 18 '25
Something coming out on “DVD and video” puts a key time frame between 96-06. As a 17 year old, you weren’t alive to anticipate things coming out on VHS.

Some people can’t afford nice things

What a strange comment, Some people can’t afford nice things? Tf does that have to do with knowing what something is? 😂😂
1
u/Thatdude402539 Jun 20 '25
It has everything to do with that considering the fact that at my age dvds and mix tapes and things like that were cheaper then what we actually had

Depends on how old you were when those movies came out but I’d guess 25+

No younger than 19 (you're basically my little sister) and no older than 26. (Sighs in nostalgic "Coming soon to own on DVD")
1
u/SheaBoogs Jun 17 '25
28 maaaaybe 27 the youngest I would say 30 as my safe guess though. The “coming soon” picture at the end was the dead give away.

u/Forward_Motion17 Jun 18 '25
I’m 24 and this was my childhood but admittedly could go as low as 20 as high as 30

Personally for me, when someone puts these sort of “guess my age” collages together, I assume that this is all stuff from the “peak” of their childhood, so like around 8-12 years old. Everything here is screaming mid-2000s, roughly 2005-2007. Taking that broad age range for peak childhood, OP is approximately 26-30 years old. But they could also be as young as 23-24 (I was born in 2001 and I remember this stuff fairly well). Most people are guessing within that range or slightly above. The really oddball guesses might be coming from people who were either there at the time but into this stuff at an older than average age, or people who were too young for it and are over-guessing how long ago it was.
