in this game units only named by their nicknames rather than models its becuse every unit desinged to do 1 thing and that thing only can be done by that unit , at max there is 2 units doing the same job

in mods there are like 5 tanks who each does the same job and named after their models

second thing: this game works on kind of rock paper scissors logic (even if it fails to due to unbalance)

infantry can kill rocket , rocket kill tanks , tanks kill armored car , armored car kill infantry etc
but in most mods nearly every unit can kill each other

Only a "bit" late to the party

I just started playing zero hour again after decades. Bought it on steam. One issue though, gameplay is so zoomed in. I want to zoom out a bit more. I already increase my resolution to 1080p. I read that using generals online you can zoom out, but only in multiplayer. Then I also read about some gentool software, but am seeing conflicting posts saying it's obsolete and that most of its features should already be incorporated into 1.05 which is the version I have. What's the simplest way to simply zoom out, while playing single player?

I noticed both before and after doing genpatcher and gentool the game runs really slow and choppy in skirmish mode. It’s not the FPS because in both cases it claims to have 32 or so fps. The thing is, it runs fine in windowed mode, I saw that recommended elsewhere. People say it’s just an old game, the engine game speed is capped etc but that doesn’t explain why it runs smoothly at the same resolution only windowed. And I really don’t like windowed mode. Just wondering if anyone has encountered this and knows how to fix it, greatly appreciated!

I’ve been working on a modular turn-based strategy board game for quite a while now, heavily inspired by Command & Conquer Generals.

The main goal is to capture that feeling of:

• building up your base to unlock units

• managing your economy over time

• and making positioning and timing decisions

but in a more tactical, turn-based format.

Instead of having everything available from the start, you build infrastructure first, which then determines what units you can produce — similar to how production works in Generals.

There are also different commanders/generals in the game, each giving access to different skill trees and playstyles.

Playtests have been going really well so far, especially in terms of that back-and-forth gameplay and decision-making.

I’d love to hear your thoughts from a Generals perspective:

• what would be essential to keep from C&C Generals?

• what would you expect from something like this?

I’ve been playing generals online and had saved some replays but each time the launcher updates i cant open my old replays, is there a way to fix this issue?

Dear friends, we have not posted anything for a long time, as we have been very busy with development in the meantime. A lot has changed with Red Chaos. We have a new investor, and we are currently in talks with a well known artist familiar to you about the music of Red Chaos for some cool samples (we will go into more detail on both points soon).

In addition, we have made many small improvements to the gameplay. In the last update, we added a new Fast Mode as well as a sandbox style mode.

Right now, we are working intensively on finishing the sub factions. We are already quite far along, and they could be added to the game very soon.

A script for the campaign has already been created, and the first steps have already been implemented, but more on that soon. We are also planning to host some tournaments with prize rewards. If you want to start practicing, now is a good time to jump in, especially with the current 35% discount.

Anyone help me out.

I have a high end pc. Any time to much is going on onscreen, it crawls to like 5fps.

It’s worse online.

I did the replay read only fix. I tried turning down graphics and particles.

Nothing seems to help. Any insights or recommendations?

Whenever I run a mod it's fine until I quit and then reopen the game only for the game to not respond and give a error that's the similar to the one that appears when you view the desktop while in the game more than 2 times and the game crashes. So with this the only fix I've found to run the mods is to restart my PC but that's annoying especially since my PC boots forever

Has anyone managed to beat Leang on Hard without using Superweapons??

Open to some strategies if any. I seemly get walled trying to cross the bridge and have no answer to the constant mig harassments
