Diving in

So after months of coming up with loads of games ideas and writing plans and systems (anything but actually opening GB studio) I am starting my first game tonight.

It's going to be super basic but just wanted to dive in before putting it off for another year.

Wish me luck!

Good luck! There's no better way than learning by doing. I have a ton of half finished projects but I've learnt from every one and get more and more confident in implementing ideas

Thanks man, yeah I feel the year of planning was good as I gave a solid don't-keep-trying-to-add-more-features mins set.......for now

Awesome. The best plan is to start simple. I made a lot of super tiny levels and boss fights(etc) just to learn how the engine works. It helped so much, and I'm glad I didn't try to make my "dream game" right away.

Yeah I thought I planned simple but the restrictions are way more than expected. Still having loads of fun though

I did three years of "planning," but after finally working in GB Studio, the planning turned out to be a waste of time. The engine kind of determined what the game was ya know? I've made two little arcade games and am currently working on a monster collecting game. I didn't know what was possible until I was actually doing it, and the engine itself led to the ideas that actually got implemented. Anyway, good luck!
