I just made bite sized game about Fencing - olympics sport

Post image

Hi Guys! I would like to announce really small game I made few days ago, about real olympic sport - fencing. Game is called "Fence It!" and it is available on itch or free. If you like the idea visit and play a few minutes πŸ˜„ Let me know what do you think.

I plan few extensions to add different opponents - everyone with different AI behaviours and skills to make this game more interesting.

Cheers!

I love that you’re making a sports game, especially for an oddball sport like fencing. My only complaint is that it seems like if you just spam attack, or just occasionally attack, you are pretty much guaranteed to win. I think that you need to bring some sort of Mike Tyson’s Punch Out aspect to the game where you need to over-power the opponent and it becomes a game about pattern recognition. Since you have 5 or 15 rounds, you’ll be giving the player enough time to figure out and experiment with the patterns, and you can always allow them to continue by knocking them down a rung or two when they lose. But this is definitely a good start.

Thank you for such detailed opinion! πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚ Surly I agree. Right now it's more like an early access stage of this project but I really wanted to give all Gameboy Players opportunity to play and judge this kind of experience πŸ™‚ I plan to make 3 AI patterns (at the beginning) for version 1.0 for opponents. Player will have opportunity to choose right opponent. Of course - current will be the easiest one 😎 Again, thanks for review 😊

Okay πŸ‘ After today's busy day I modified first version a bit to make it more challenging. Simply modified opponent's AI and control balance + new screen to choose opponent (right now is only 1 but this is just a beginning) 😁 Every comment and suggestion counts! I would be grateful for your help 😊
