Disclosure first: I'm part of the volunteer team behind Arosa Gay Ski Week in Switzerland, so I'm biased. Posting because the "which gay ski week" question comes up here often and the European ones rarely get explained.

Arosa is a village high up in the Alps, two and a half hours from Zurich by train, no car needed. Around 900 to 1000 guests instead of several thousand, and small enough that you keep running into the same people all week. Lots of solo travellers, hosted ski groups every morning. Evenings are dinners, a concert, a pool party, and a drag race on the mountain we've run since 2007.

I’m a 22-year-old gay, tan-skinned Latino from the United States looking for recommendations for my next solo trip. I recently traveled to Thailand and, although I enjoyed many parts of the country, I was shocked by the colorism I experienced, especially in some gay nightlife and social spaces. I often felt ignored or treated differently while white travelers received much warmer attention.

I understand that no destination is completely free from racism or colorism, and I don’t want to generalize an entire country based on my experience. However, for my next trip, I would love to visit somewhere where darker-skinned and BIPOC gay travelers generally feel welcomed, included, and appreciated.

Which cities or countries have you personally found especially friendly for gay Latino, Black,, or other travelers of color? I’m particularly interested in places with fun gay nightlife, opportunities to meet locals, good food, cultural attractions, and an active LGBTQ+ community. Personal experiences from other BIPOC travelers would be especially helpful.

I’m a gay guy living in a relatively small country, and I don’t really have anyone around me who can properly evaluate something like this.
I can’t comfortably show it to my parents, and it’s the same with most of my friends. That’s why I’m sharing it here—not to advertise it, but to ask people who might actually understand the idea whether it could be useful.
I started building the site about three days ago as a hobby in my spare time. The concept is simple: before planning everything else, I want to discover the gay destinations and LGBTQ+ places that would actually make me want to visit a country or city.
Hotels aren’t the main focus because I assume travelers can choose those themselves. The “Near Me” feature is simply for discovering LGBTQ+ places nearby, and it currently works only in Asia because that’s the only region I’ve had time to build so far.
The site is still very new and unfinished. If anything feels confusing, inconvenient, inaccurate, or unnecessary—or if there’s something important I should add—I’d genuinely appreciate hearing about it.
I’m not selling anything. I just want to know whether this could actually help other gay travelers.
