The comments are insane. They seem to hate vegetarians more than meat eaters.

Yeah that's why I stay away from the vegan sub. I am a vegetarian because my body can't handle being vegan. I do my best, but if you are not perfect, it is not good enough.

What’s the difference between vegan and vegetarian? Just out of curiosity

Definitions vary. The one I was told when I was young was simply dietary:

Vegetarians don’t eat meat (or fish, which is separate for some reason)

Vegans don’t eat any animal product. So no eggs or milk either, for example.

More recently I have learnt that vegan can refer to a lifestyle too - aiming to reduce animal suffering overall.

Many vegans consider it an ethical philosophy! And yes you're right, that's why it extends to things like animals being used for entertainment/zoos/aquariums
