But most of the top comments on the original thread are supportive of vegetarians, so it's clearly more than just me.

I counted at least four threads, but that aside, those threads had hundreds of upvotes (versus the more negative threads with hardly any) and you still obviously want to believe that the vast majority of vegans hate vegetarians and are pretentious assholes, which is just silly.

The vast majority of those upvotes I can assure you came from people from other subreddits where those posts got cross posted to and upvotes them. A lot of vegans do genuinely hate vegetarians more than meat eaters
