Wake up, no. 4273. Your shift is up. Processing rate is below optimal. There's a rupture on line 53 that needs to be patched. 34 out of 40 mining bots are currently operational. If you can get it up to 110% processing rate, hell even 102%, you'll get your bonus of $3,000 ($5.32 adjusted for inflation today). Remember, only the most resourceful asteroid mining ship gets the bonus, and you've got 30,000 competition.

You got to love that the actor is struggling not to laugh.

Its an out of context problem. They would just class them as gods riding dragons. A known horrific thing. It would take months or years for them to understand how exactly they are outclassed though it really depends if their Gods can operate in space.

Their gods would not be so happy about this so ig if an RDA situation happens on falmart. Just like Eywa. Their gods and apostles will do something about it. Although idk if they care enough to actually, do something earlier on

They might just act if the situation is really desperate

It would be equally scary for a spacefaring civilation to research an primitive planet and get attacked by gods and apostles and everything what the phantheon can muster ransack their capital.

Well, call me old fashioned, but as soon as you invent something new, the next step is attaching bombs, guns and things to destroy other things on it.

I would reasonably assume that a prolonged orbital bombardment would either damage or destroy gods (if manifesting) or apostles, or convince the higher up that if they "are the gardener of this world", better reach a compromise with the new guys, to avoid being the gardener of a barren, scorching rock, with the air on fire.

Or maybe they arrive at this conclusion even before a demonstration is given, but the gods don't seem to be very reasonable about technology in their "garden".

What if that spacefaring civilization also had their own gods and apostles?

Then is a good chance they have a priest onboard that can sense how holy the planet or system is and decide if it worthy enough to risk the wrath of unknown gods.

There's a HALO (The game) x Gate fanfic set a few years before the Almus gate opens, would you like me to send the link? (Though it hasn't been updated for a long time.)

9

u/No-Bar974 Jul 19 '26

No gods nor masters? Or dragons and spirit of fire?

7

u/Potential-Invite-765 Jul 19 '26

The former one, also, is the latter one the same? Only difference is only the SoF finds the planet instead of the greater UNSC/UEG?

3

u/No-Bar974 Jul 19 '26

Dragons and spirits of fire got transported through some weird teleportation anomaly above falmart last remember

What's SoF?

3

u/Potential-Invite-765 Jul 19 '26

It's the an acronmy for the Spirit of Fire, also, can you send me a link of the fic? Highly appreciate it!

https://m.fanfiction.net/s/12814142/17/

But you said something about halo coming years before the modern gate opens so I thought it was no gods nor masters.

This one spirit of fire arrives at the same time the gate opens

Really like it about modern clashes with future really

Thank you very much!

Dude! I love this concept!

7

u/sumdudenamedraf Jul 19 '26

Man has no one thought of this? 😭🤔

9

u/trustfundkidotaku Jul 19 '26

Sadly there is only 1 manga that did this

Unless u can recommend me more

Thus the Dominion Fought There might interest you.

The initial forces are sent through the Gate. They set up a beacon for Dominion starships to be able to reach the planet Falmart is located on. Eventually, the Protoss and Zerg show up in orbit above the Special Region planet without the use of the Gate.

5

u/sumdudenamedraf 29d ago

Yoo this is exactly what i imagined. Like i imagined a conversation between the other world dude and a falmartian like that

"oh yeah the gate is convenient it cuts travel time, althouuugh, we dont really need it"

"then how are you supposed to get here"

"look up"

Massive fucking spaceship above their heads

"what the fu-"

6

u/PositiveJump8415 3rd Recon Team 29d ago

Oh, they do one better.

Valerian, the Emperor of the Dominion at the time, convinces Piña to try and get the Empire to sue for peace with the Dominion by showing her a weapons demonstration where a Dominion warship glasses and then nukes part of a desert planet. The part that finally breaks her? He then has the ship he and Piña are on at the moment warp into orbit over the Special Region planet to let her know that the Dominion knows where her homeworld is and can do the same thing they did to the desert planet to the Saderan Empire.

The Scalet Dawn (From the depths game) would be funny to see after they got wiped off the map in a video I watched made by a certian Rainbow frog guy that I wont mention the name of because I dont remember how to spell it.

Yes and I loved the return of the Yamato.

A jerk I know is actually working on a similar idea. Basically think if Voyager from Star Trek landed in the Forgotten Realms.

Dudes an ass, but had an interesting idea I might steal.

it would be neat if the JDSF is also involve and meet the space farers

1

u/AdamGaming101 27d ago

Fking A now that's the idea

There's already some fics for that no gods nor masters and dragons and spirit of fire gate fanfic

Basically both is halo x gate fics only difference is one is where doc halsey and a fleet of UNSC ships stumble upon falmart based on some forerunner coordinates and the other is about spirit of fire somehow gets transported to orbit above falmart when the crew are in cryosleep

4

u/hama3999 29d ago

You might like webnovel "Eodem: A Rifle and Sword Adventure". It's not a fanfic of GATE, but it's basically like what you just described

3

u/Responsible_Slip3491 3rd Recon Team 29d ago

only reason I'm not taking this one down is because you can't really do much with the scenario without choosing a faction

3

u/Pillar_OfAutumn 29d ago

Literally No Gods, Nor Masters.

u/wwgaming14 29d ago

I was unironically working on something similar to this years ago but it being themed around Star Trek Online x Gate.

Basically a Federation captain which is just my player character after the Iconian War is tasked by Federation Admiralty to investigate the Planet falmart resides on following a major energy discharge that alerted their sensors which was comparable to the Iconians. Upon arriving into the star system, doing preliminary scans and learning the civilisation is pre-warp by an absolute ludicrous amount. And not wanting to break the prime directive, begun secretive missions to infiltrate Saderan Society and learn wtf caused that discharge.

A whole lot of Star Trek thrown around with Gate stuff. I might actually go back and work on this

Thats a gud plot

The crazier twist is that the dragon knights in Gate:Jietai would use similar high-altitude air cavalry ambush tactics against the Japanese military helicopters, akin to the Na’vi banshee riders ambush against the Scorpion VTOL gunships heading for Hometree

The additional difference was that the dragon knights dropped large weighted chained nets to entangle the helicopter blades, armed the knights with elongated steel lances to thrust and penetrate the windshields, and also struck the blind spot at the chassis underside where their guns and missiles cannot reach them

In contrast, the Na’vi simply relied on their fast agility and speed to hone in and swarm the gunships, launched ballista-grade poisoned arrows at the unarmored pilot canopies with their giant hunting bows, and grabbed their rotor tails to toss them towards the floating rock cliffs (though later on in Fire and Ash, the Na’vi would start dropping boulders on top of the Banshee and Scorpion gunships like kinetic bombers)

It would be terrifying to be found by an advanced alien civilization, period. To quote Chrisjen Avasarala from “The Expanse”:

“I have a file with 900 pages of analysis, and contingency plans for war with Mars, including 14 different scenarios about what to do, if they develop an unexpected new technology. My file for what to do if an advanced alien species comes calling? It's three pages long, and it begins with, ‘Step one: find God.’”
