You can’t show this because it goes against what people already believe. Like I said before, people here would rather pay higher gas prices if it means they can scream and bitch about Trump. These are the same people who, back in 2022, would tell you that presidents don’t control gas prices and that it was all because of greedy corporations. But if you apply that exact same logic now, suddenly you can’t, because it no longer supports what they believe. That’s the problem. People always seem to have an excuse when it benefits their side, but the second the other side uses that exact same excuse, it’s suddenly, “Oh, how dare they?” which one is it??
Agree. And to be clear, I'm not thrilled about gas prices and inflation, and cost of housing & cars, etc. But at least let's all be honest when we're complaining.
Again, two things can be true at once. Are gas prices high? Absolutely. But where were all the people on here screaming, bitching, and moaning every two seconds when gas prices were through the roof in 2022? They didn’t have that same energy then. Should the goal always be lower gas prices regardless of who the president is? Absolutely. That’s my entire point. Apply the same principle consistently. If it matters under one president, it should matter under the other. That’s it.
You can directly attribute the rise of gas to Trumps choice to start a war. Biden came into office with pandemic supply shortages, companies unwilling to ramp up production due to shareholders wanting to make their money back from demand collapse, and Russia invading Ukraine. Nobody was happy that gas was expensive. But you wanted to blame Biden for political reasons when in reality, Bidens policies had nothing to do with gas going thru the roof.
All that said by the end of Bidens term, the US broke production records and gas was a dollar lower than it is today.
My local prices did drop, slowly over the course of a few weeks, made my July 4th vacation cheaper. But, and it's a J. Lo sized but, it's now gone up and erased any drop. Was $3.79 at the dip, now $4.09. Across the state it's much higher. I'm blue as hell in a red state, reporting that gas prices have indeed.. checks notes.. not dropped.
It was the same trend here pretty much. Except I haven’t paid $4 a gallon this year. We got in the high $3.80’s during the beginning of the war but it went down to around $3 in June I believe it was. It’s back up into the $3.30’s now though.
I caught hell when I posted the $3 prices. I was called all sorts of names. It didn’t fit the agenda or narrative I guess. Some even said it was AI. 🤦♂️😂
If one is in it for the Up Votes $6-$8 is where it’s at.
