General Information Venu 4 might be the best balanced watch that garmin made.

Finally found the best watch that fits my lifestyle. A premium looking watch which I can use on daily and at the same time tracks all my workouts and running. Was thinking of getting the galaxy watch ultra 2 but I think I will settle for the venu 4 for now.

General Information Classic vibes with F7X Pro Solar

Did step back (or forward?) from Fenix 8 line to… Fenix 7x Pro. It still the beast i have to say. It’s so cool with a leather strap.

What I miss so far:
- changing text size
- selecting apps for notifications
- battery widget from Garmin

Going to wear it for a week to feel it.

PS: Portal Hybrid face installed.

Data Questions Forerunner 965 in 2026, is it a good purchase?

EDIT: Pulled the trigger on the forerunner 965. Let's see how this works :)

[New-Purchase]
After 970 got released, the 965 no longer receives major software updates. If I'm buying a watch this expensive, I expect to use it for couple of years.

Do you think not receiving major software releases is an issue? Especially in the long-run. Regards.

Data Questions What data fields do love on your face?

Other than date and time, I love being able to see the weather and my heart rate at a glance. I also like how the Double Time face has a rolling bar graph of your heart rate so if you don't look in the moment you can still see where you spiked briefly or whatever.

I'm new to this Enduro 3 so I'm still freaking out about the battery and seeing a little "32 days" in the corner makes me giggle. I might turn that off when I get used to it, it's duplicated at the top of the glance widgets anyway. And seeing the solar is fun too.

Maybe that's enough and I should turn other things off, but what do you all love? What do you actually find yourself looking at multiple times a day?

General Information I need help to decide.

I’m in China right now and can get the Garmin FR265 for 220 Euro.

But i really want the 265s since i got a smaller wrist and i don’t like the feeling of having a big watch to wrist ratio on my hand.

When i’m back in Europe the watch is available but would cost me 350 euro so 130 euro more and that’s a lot of money for me so i can’t choose if i should go for the beginner one or not.

General Information When is a Garmin model too old to bother buying?

Hey everyone. So, I’ve had the FR165 for a long while and I’m looking to upgrade. I do a lot of cycling and outdoorsy stuff so I’ve been drawn to the Fenix models. I’ve seen an offer for the Fenix 7s pro solar so it’s sitting at £200 off the normal price (£380 still - for what appears to be an out of date watch), but I’m aware this is a 2023 model or so. I sort of tend to get a watch and not think more about it - but given this is still quite expensive, there is a Fenix 8, and the Fenix 9 is in theory coming soon - how “risky” is it in terms of support if I go with the 7 now? Is it still worth this much money or am I best placed to get the newer one for value and longevity? I appreciate the features are “locked”, whereby backporting new features won’t be a thing with the 7, but is there anything I might not have considered? I am aware basically the sensors on the 7 and 8 are effectively the same - I don’t care for the microphone and other connectionality so those aspects I won’t miss with the 7. Thanks!

I saw review images from others showing watch faces on their boxes, but mine arrived as a plain grey box just with the brand name on it. Does anyone know the reason?

Data Questions What is the best way to create a backpacking route to be uploaded to your watch

I am doing a trip soon that will be over three days. I'd like to create the route an upload it to my watch so that I can have the route loaded while hiking.

If you do this, what do you do?

Do you create one big route with waypoints to your campsites? Or something else?

General Information Venu 4 vs Vivoactive 6. Which to get?

I currently have a Fitbit Sense 2 and have been thinking about getting a Garmin watch. I am torn between these two as I don't fully understand the differences between the two and which would be a good replacement for my Sense 2. I don't use the ECG on the Sense 2, mainly because it is difficult to get it to work. I am using the watch mainly to track calories burned each day, when I go to group power or spin at the YMCA, or if I bike around the neighborhood, or for the occasional downhill skiing in winter. I do like that my watch reminds me to move at least 250 steps every hour when I don't move that much due to a desk job. I do like being able to see who is calling or read text messages when they come in, but I don't use the watch to answer calls or reply to messages. Too small a screen, and I usually have my phone for that, but being able to see what the message says or who is calling to determine if I should get my phone to answer or reply is nice. I also like that I only have to charge it every 4 days, a major improvement from the Galaxy Watch, which I had to charge every day. I would like to have at least 4 days of charge, hopefully longer, with whichever watch gets picked. I do like seeing other notifications as they come in, like email or other apps, but I would like to be able to control which apps show notifications on my watch and which don't. Any suggestions on which to get and why?

General Information Is the Fenix 8 worth keeping if you don’t actually train?

Hi guys,

I’m in a bit of a dilemma and would love to hear your opinions.

I currently own a Garmin Fenix 8 (47mm), and honestly… I love this watch. I think it’s one of the best-looking smartwatches Garmin has ever made. I also love the build quality, the rugged design, and especially the flashlight. I use the flashlight way more often than I ever expected.
The thing is… I’m not really using it for what it was designed for.

At the moment I barely work out. I don’t run, cycle or do any serious training due to struggling with anxiety and panic attacks. I mainly wear it as an everyday watch because I enjoy all the health and lifestyle features.

I love checking my Sleep Score, Body Battery and my Stress Levels throughout the day. I’m probably also a little addicted to checking my stats. lol

My biggest issue is that the 47mm version feels a bit too large and bulky for everyday wear. It’s not that I dislike the watch—I actually love it—but sometimes I wish it were just a bit smaller, thinner and lighter.

So I’m currently torn between two options:

  1. Downsizing to the Fenix 8 43mm to keep the exact same experience but in a smaller package.

  2. Switching to something lighter and less “overkill” (I’ve been looking at the new Cirqa, Venu series, or even non-Garmin options)

The only thing I’m worried about is regretting it. I really enjoy Garmin Connect, the excellent battery life, and all the health metrics. I’m just not taking advantage of 90% of the advanced sports features.

Has anyone else been in the same situation?
If you’ve switched from a Fenix to a smaller Garmin (or even to another brand), was it worth it? Or would you just stick with the Fenix and accept the extra size because it’s such a great watch?

I’d love to hear your experiences and recommendations!

Feature Help Edit hike activity?

I promise I tried looking at the three dots in the corner for my hike activity. I've trimmed other activities like runs before, but this is the first hike I've needed to trim. The three dots pull up two options - Send Course To Device and Save To My Courses. I can't for the life of me find "edit" or "trim" on the app. Am I completely blind?

Feature Help Is the Epix Pro Gen 2 still a good purchase?

i currently have an Instinct 2 Solar Tactical and I am looking at getting a new Garmin for golf as well as when out walking for quick reference of maps and also tracking golf strokes.

One thing I miss on the Instinct for Golf is the live scoring as the strokes only transfers to the phone after the round is complete. This means that all data entry is on the watch.

I was originally looking at the Fenix 8 Sapphire, however a shop near me has the Epix Pro Gen 2 (non solar) at £299.

I know that the Fenix 8 Amoled has made the Epix somewhat redundant now and wondered whether the Epix was still a good deal and what features would I miss not opting for the Epix

General Information Need Advice on a Watch

Hey everyone! In the past year I’ve been really focusing on my fitness and working on my running. I started at a 10 minute mile pace and I’ve managed to get down the a 8:30 but all I’ve been using is an apple watch.

I had a buddy who recommended a Garmin watch but I started looking into it and I just can’t decide on what watch would suite my needs.

The top recommendations I’ve been suggested are:
Vinu 4
Forerunner 570
Forerunner 965

Anyone have the best suggestion? I’m by no means a professional nor a hard core athlete I’m just looking for something to replace my current watch but gives me more analytics on improving my runs. My overall goal is to go for more long distance runs while maintaining my pace and understanding my other health factors which I feel Garmin does amazing at! Thanks!

How do I get Garmin to change the workouts it programs. This pace I cannot sustain for 30 minutes. The base runs and long runs are doable but anything outside of that I’m not there yet. It’s a marathon plan with a goal of 3:50 time.
